Brand new 2024 GLE450 what a Mistake!
What a POS! Ordered the car waited 4 months. Physically in my driveway less than two weeks and has been to service twice already, less than 300 miles. If anyone is considering this vehicle, I would seriously recommend getting another brand completely.
I understand your frustration, had a couple of problems out of the gate that absolutely infuriated me! The dealer took care of it and the car has been trouble free for 3 1/2 years now. Get the dealer to make it right.

I had one of the first 1998 ML 320 delivered in Florida and after 9 months and numerous issues was able to Lemon Law the vehicle and MBUSA have me a new one.
Keep accurate records and notes... write down and deliver written complaints and issues to your SA. Document everything!

The sad truth is that vehicle quality is a crap shoot across most brands today. Mercedes, like everyone else, assembles the vehicle with a lot of parts from the supply chain…that has become unrealizable post pandemic. There’s a good chance that the part failure on your car came from such a supplier. First it was COVID causing employee turnover and absence of trained employees. Now it’s the ongoing demand for vehicles stretching supplier resources. I bought a new GMC truck and a Porsche Cayenne in the last year and both are being repurchased by the Manufacturer. My truck was disabled 12 days after purchase by an Over the Air Update and has been at the Dealer for 11 weeks waiting on parts.
It’s no fun being one of the small percentage that have issues. It’s also counter productive to trash the brand over one persons unique issue, IMO.

No my friend I took it for service last week for this same check engine light and hot air, as well as the displayed message on the dash. Mercedes kept it for 5 days and claimed there was an air pocket in the system. They flushed the system, test drove it 10 miles and stated it was fixed. Less than 48hours later the same exact thing occurred. This time I refused to drive it to service and requested they pick it up and leave a loaner, which they did. On the first occurrence they stuck me in a nasty 5 year old Chevy equinox that smelled like you would catch an STD in it.

It may be my age, haha. But I tend to take things a little less seriously than I did when I was younger. A scratch here or there, or a service issue just doesn’t raise my blood pressure anymore. I’m certainly not taking anything away from your situation, it’s definitely frustrating. But I hope for you the issue gets resolved, and in 6 months you won’t even remember it, may not happen, but I hope it does. Good luck.

Sorry to hear OP. While it sucks and I would be beyond mad at a brand new car. At MB, and at spending any amounts of my own $$. But its a brand new car the dealership needs to make it right. Your issue sounds a lot to be with your dealership and service youre NOT getting. The car should be at Mercedes until it is fully inspected and 110% verified its all good. In the meantime you should have a similar comparable rental car and lastly some sort of financial reimbursement should come your way for all of this.
Everything that I said is not uncommon for luxury brands.
Saying buying a $80,000++ car was a mistake is not applicable. Even though I get it you wrote that while you were pissed. Change your dealership first. Good luck!
And fewer people are buying S-Classes broadly and fewer people are buying MBs than they are BMWs the U.S. market.
Tough era MB finds itself in. They need to do something.

Come on mate, don't be douchy. Are you 18 years old? Yes, stick with your advice and don't reply.
Some teething problems are expected, hence the break-in period. Nothing to do with the brand.
If possible, you may want to try another dealership. In the end, you will be good.

I can empathize with this poor sap. I hope he can get it sorted, but based on my experience, I wouldn’t hold my breath. He has every right to call that car a POS if he wants to. Who are we to question someone else’s judgment on a purchase that he made. Also, MB shouldn’t be above criticism just because everyone else is making poor quality cars.
I would start documenting everything, every error and dealer visit, and call corporate to complain if you haven’t already done so. Start building a case for a buyback in case they can’t fix it.
