Factory pressures are all over the place on different models - seems strange to me.

I currently have a 2017 GLC43 with 21" wheels and it chews through tires. We have to replace every 10K miles at most and we don't drive aggresively.

Thanks!
Currently going through an ordeal with my MB dealership. We leased MB GLE450e 2025 at the end of February, and at 5 k miles rear tires are completely gone. The car came with Bridgestones 275/50R20 109H. Bridgestone agreed to pay 50%, and the rest is on us. At this rate I'll be going through tires 3 times a year. MB corporate is saying No way it's a heavy battery, it's most likely my driving habits. Our MB dealership is saying it's tires and heavy battery in the back and it's expected this wear. Completely insane, I would have never leased this car, what is the point of hybrid then?
I drive to work 12 miles every day, mostly highway, taking my kid to school/ sports on local paved roads, never dirt, I don't pull anything with this car and never out of town travel.
Today I'm picking my car up after 2 weeks in service, I truly can't wait for our lease to end. We have MB vehicles before,no issues, this is our first hybrid car and a total let down. I'm attaching pictures, you can see the front tires are perfect and back tires gone. Also I checked the tire pressure and attaching the picture as well. It was within recommend norms for this car.
As i understand from different posts,Bridgestone is not the best tire, but in general I'm learning hybrids are heavier cars and will wear out tires faster.

I'm picking my car up today at the dealership, new tires are on and i just checked on the app, it's the same pressure 38/46. I will definitely look at the pressure table on the gas flap while picking my car up and question them on the over inflation concern.
In generally, as of right now I regret getting a hybrid. It is my first hybrid and while I am saving some money on gas, I will spend more on tires due to the hybrid weights. I don't think I want to deal with tires this often.

It looks like the recommended tire pressure for a normally loaded GLE450e is 35 front and 35 rear. Unless you are driving around with a lot of cargo, your rear tires are significantly over inflated. I would make sure you inflate your new tires to the recommended amount. (Use the tire pressures listed on the gas cap).

Thank you so much!
I am addressing this immediately with my dealership. They claimed 38/46 is where we would want it. I am picking my car today because i was informed the new tires are on and the same 38/46 is set once again according to my app.

My understanding is that when it says "within normal range," it's based on you resetting your TPMS, once you've set your pressures where you want them. Resetting is in the service menu. You set your own "normal range."

Here is a screenshot of my app, but it's after driving 50 mi at mostly 80 mph, in 100° F temperature, yesterday.
If I check the pressure now, after cooling and a day later, it'll be about 3-5 psi lower than my app display.

Here's a picture of my gas flap.

Get a picture of your gas flap. It's based on your specific car, with your equipment and OE size tires.
As @GregW / Oregon said, they're all over the place, so don't rely on the forum in this case, unless the poster has the exact car with your tires.

Try setting your pressures at your gas flap recommendations, then go to the Service Menu (drivers display) and reset the TPMS to that pressure (the "new normal").

Ask (TELL) the shop to set your pressures to your gas flap pressures. See if you can get them to take a picture of your gas flap so you can post it here during this discussion.

DO NOT use the pressure on the drivers door post.

Thank you so very much, this is so valuable to me! I'm going to pick up my car today around 5pm, and I'll take some pictures of gas flap pressures. I contacted MB dealership and asked them about my current set pressure and they said 38/46 is where I want to be with this type of car, rear tires have to be inflated due to heavy battery. But I'm reading comments here saying it's way too high, since I never pull anything with my car and my driving is gentle, no more than 2 people in a car, mostly it's just me. I'm really so confused with everything. All I know, I think it'll be my last hybrid. I'm not willing to save some money on gas, and spend a lot more on tires.
My dealership replaced my 2 rear tires at 50% cost. 50% was on Bridgestone. They gave us Bridgestones 275/50R20 113H. The shredded ones were Bridgestones 275/50R20 109H, which was discontinued in 2019. I don't understand why they would put discontinued tires with treadwear rating 300 on 2025 luxury car with heavy rear. The new tires according to my search are 500. If these tires do not work out , I'll have to get way better tires, I've been reading posts here and have a general idea what people recommend.

Thank you again for all your help!

Electric and hybrid drives eat tires, in addition to MB’s normal tire appetite, because electric drive torque is “instant on” and tire slip (tire slip is not the same as tire spin) at low tire rpm is greater than an ICE + torque converter powertrain. More tire slip = more tire wear.
I requested 21” tires on my 2022 GLE 350. I respectfully disagree with the words “eat tire.” Simply because the GLE utterly destroy tires. And, don’t get me started on the replacement cost. I’m too embarrassed to say how much. Recommend sticking with the basic wheel size.

I don't know what to say about the OP only getting 10k of tire life - that is far from my 28 years of Mercedes SUV ownership experience. As far as the above statements, too much negative camber would lead to uneven wear - my tires wear evenly. I got 37k miles out of my first set of 21" Pirelli Scorpion Zero *** (could have got a little more) which I think is perfectly acceptable and in line with every Mercedes SUV I've had since 1997. $1,600 for a set of tires on a $70k+ vehicle is not outrageous IMO. You could save a few hundred going with 20" tires if the pennies matter.

Same here, I just put on a new set of shoes on my 2020 GLE and that was dang near 47K miles on them Pirelli Scorpions Zeros. I went with the Pirelli Scorpions Z AS this time. So far so good.

It was frustrating experience the begin with due to salesperson being very vague with everything, we should have walked away from the deal at that time. But here we are in the beginning of August and the car is at the dealership for the last 2 weeks. Around 5k miles the rear tires (Bridgestones 275/50R20 109H) went completely bald, smooth like a skating rink. Very dangerous. Definitely those tires didn't not get this bald suddenly, they were dangerous probably at 4k miles, we just didn't pay attention bc it was a such a new car. Both front tires are like brand new. We contacted the dealership and were told to bring the car in bc of the possible alignment issue. Immediately once arrived we were told that "Oh it's Suv,so the tires wear out faster".As if we never owned SUVs before and so stupid. It's completely ubnormal for rear tires to go completely bald at 4-5k miles while front tires are perfect.Couple of days later we get an inspection report saying alignment is fine, but tires are bald (Duhhhh). What is making them bald,MB?!?! So MB decided to blame it on Bridgestone and contacted them for possible warranty. Bridgestone said that they'd pay for half of cost to replace the rear tires, the rest we have to pay. And all of a sudden MB says :So our battery is placed in the back of the car which makes it bottom heavy and it's expected such a tire wear. How is it normal to go completely bald on rear tires at 4-5k miles? What is the point of the hybrid then? The sale pitch to us was it's a hybrid, you'll save some money on gas and enjoy the experience of a luxury car. Why do we even need a hybrid then, to save some money on gas (which isn't a lot ) but spend thousands of dollars on tires? If rear tires are completely bald at 4-5k miles , that means we'd have to replace them 3 times a year! This is insanity and what's really disheartening MB is acting like their design flaw such as heavy bottom car is now our issue! Not one time during this sale our salesperson mentioned Oh btw you'll save some money on gas , but will have to purchase new tires frequently, we didn't even have an opportunity to make an educated decision whether it's the right car for us. We are very sure this is our last MB car ever. We lost all the trust in this brand. I (as a primary driver) have to mention my style of driving: im not an aggressive driver, my commute to work is 20 min,all paved roads, never dirt road, and I'm always careful since I have my son with me when I have to drive him to school and sports, and I do not pull anything with this car.I feel very unsafe in this car at this point because MB is not giving any certain answers, just speculations why the tires wear out this fast, like maybe it's tires, maybe it's bottom heavy, maybe it's both.We personally think there's a problem with the rear of this car. Changing tires up to 3 times a year is completely insane, making this hybrid completely useless, we'd rather just spend money on gas at this point. As of today 8.13.2025 MB corporate said that there's nothing wrong with my car and it's driving habits (as if I decided all of a sudden to burn through tires after 25 years of driving) and our MB dealership is saying it IS the battery and nothing they can do but to offer the 50% off deal on new Bridgestone tires. If I don't have a definite answer on what is wrong with car, how can I drive it with a piece of mind?!
Well stated!

What was the date code on those tires? If those tires were made in 2019, someone pulled a fast one on you and swapped tires. Tires are supposed to be replaced at six years, and I doubt the factory would have put those tires on a 2025 model year car. Do you have a picture of the full sidewall with the DOT code numbers?

Definitely.
I smell a rat here.

@Lena I would get a picture of the sidewalls. The tires on a brand new car should be current dated and current models.

Back to the gas flap:
Did the pressures the dealer told you agree with your gas flap?
If so, did they reset the TPMS?

FINAL OUTCOME: on Friday 08.15.25 I picked up my car and recorded my conversation with sales and service just for my satisfaction. Service admitted it IS the heavy battery, that type of battery is usually picked up with forklift which almost doubles the weight of the car, and probably the combo of Bridgestone tires. I'm still very insulted that MB corporate decided to blame it on my driving habits, meanwhile my driving reports can be easily found in car's smart settings. What kind of monster do they think i am on the road to do this damage after 5k? We got 1 tire for free from Bridgestone, and since those tires owned by MB, Bridgestone wanted them to take part in this responsibility and pay for the 2nd rear tire. MB corporate said no way, blaming my "driving habits". I had to buy the 2nd tire myself which came to ~$547. Service manager joked that I'd be seeing them soon since it was the same identical tires Bridgestones 275/50R20 113H treadwear 500. I originally posted here that the tires were 109H (discontinued in 2019) but the service manager was wrong giving us this info when we requested it while the car was at the dealership and i apologize for the misinformation. now I own these new rear tires (not MB as previously) I get this deal: since my tires can't be rotated every 5k miles due to different wheel sizes, my 40K warranty slashes to 20K miles. I sure will be there again very soon. Also I asked about tire pressure, saying that I was told to keep it at 38F/46R. The service manager looked at the recommended tire pressure for it, turned out it was 38F/51R, and immediately took it back for service saying it had to match what the car's requirements were. I was under inflated by 5 psi on the rear. Service wished me a better ride from now on saying maybe it'd help the tire wear. Obviously, this will be my last Bridgestone tires and I would have to try something else. Also, the only place we found pressure sticker was the driver door, nothing on the gas filler flap, and the service manager said they don't put stickers there anymore. Very strange, because everyone on every forum suggested the gas filler flap is most accurate location. I did take a picture of the sticker though and the current pressure from my app.Sales manager was a jërk, saying if something like that happened to him or his wife "What's the big deal, I would just put new tires".I'm really disgusted with this whole experience, no more plug in hybrids for me, I'd rather pay for gas than spend thousands on tires. I can't even be altruistic saying Oh but im driving a hybrid , good for the environment. Meanwhile I am trashing landfills with tires. This car comes as a complete disappointment to me, can't wait till the lease is over. I guess I could also blame myself for not thoroughly researching before getting this car, shame on me, lesson learned.

@Lena ?
I just got a PM from @LenaSomehow her posts aren't showing up.

But here's a question that maybe the forum can answer.
She has a 2025 GLE 450e. It has no tire pressure sticker on the gas flap.
The service manager says that Mercedes no longer puts stickers on the gas flap. (I'm pretty sure they still have to post the sticker for emergency responders. Batteries, airbag locations etc. QR code.)

So the question is, does Mercedes no longer put air pressure stickers on the gas flap on 2025 models?

#2 does anyone here have a 2025 GLE 450E who can take a picture of the gas flap? Hopefully one with 20-in tires?

I'll act as an intermediary here.
By the way, her takeoff tires were current specification.

PM from @Lena (strange that this is how she can post now)
She saw a similar car and it asked to take a picture of their gas flap.
Here it is. They inflated her tires to full loaded specs. She never tows or carries a load she said.

According to the latest owners manual available at MBUSA.com, The gas flap is still supposed to have a tire pressure table.

She’s checking the gas door and not the charger door, right???

Tire wear on hybrid GLE

That is one long paragraph! Don't understand the forklift part. Sorry you had a bad dealer experience - mine is quite good. Inflating to maximum loaded pressure makes no sense for normal use, and will wear the center of the tires more. I recommend setting to just a little more than the normal pressure, something like 36/39, unless you are indeed loaded. The fact that the warranty is halved if you don’t rotate is a new one on me.

I would have went for a different brand of tires with a higher tire rating and speed rating and a guarantee mileage tread warranty

Even if the brand and model of Tire has a mileage warranty, it's only for replacement tires.
I think all brands of automobiles don't honor a treadlife warranty on OE tires, AKA ones that came on the car.
