Retrofit u88 Drive Unit Buttons on GLE 450
Just got done doing the retrofit on my 2020 gle 450 non AMG for the drive unit module, coding, and steering wheel change. It was a little pricy and the install of the drive unit itself cumbersome but I'll share my experience with pictures shortly.

Sorry all, just got really busy. I ended up having issues with retrofitting the DRVU since I don't have the AMG N73 ignition module. I would have to get my original N73 ignition module transferred to an AMG one which I wasn't interested in doing. I'm working on another route with a module from carsystems.com.ua and will keep you updated when I start the install of that module.

Attached are the instructions that I put together along with some of the instructions from carsystems.com.ua. Let me know if you have any questions on anything. Good luck and hopefully you'll enjoy the retrofit like I did. It was a challenge at times but looks really nice when done.
Keep in mind that this is assuming you have installed the AMG steering wheel (w222) with drive unit buttons already. These modules will work if you want to retrofit the newer style steering wheel (w223) 2024+ with the drive unit buttons. I chose the w222 AMG steering wheel to give it more of a factory look and I prefer the w222 AMG steering wheel over the new one.
Keep in mind that this is assuming you have installed the AMG steering wheel (w222) with drive unit buttons already. These modules will work if you want to retrofit the newer style steering wheel (w223) 2024+ with the drive unit buttons. Very impressive instructions and an impressive effort on the self-installation as well. Not something I'd care to do myself.
Based on my research into this upgrade I've found that installing the AMG Drive Unit controls or the steering wheel is not the most critical aspect of this upgrade. Someone needs to confirm whether your VDM (vehicle dynamics module) is capable of supporting the full functionality of these controls. Others have added them and encounter limitations. Another member of MBWorld supporting this upgrade is able to verify using your VIN, @rjautomotive
