GLE300d Rear Driver's Side Door Does Not Open When Car is Unlocked
Anyone had an issue with their GLE300d 2023 model series 167 in which one of the doors automatically locks/does not open even when the car is unlocked (with engine on or off).
See step by step procedure below of what is happening to my vehicle:
1. Unlocked the vehicle via the key, opened my driver door, turned on the car (for the AC to kick in due to summer heat).
2. Closed the door.
3. Opened the passenger rear side door to get all the kids in the car. They all sat inside. I closed the door. (All doors are now closed with the engine still running and car unlocked).
4. I went then over to the driver's side rear door (to buckle my daughter in) and tried to open the door. The door did not opening at all. After 10-15 attempts of pulling the handle, the door still didn't open up. (***Note this is sporadic as there have been times in which it opens after 3-4 attempts.)
5. I had to resort to open my drivers side door and use the unlock function.
6. I went back to the driver's right side rear door and lo and behold....it opened.
When it jams like this, the only way I can get it open again is by unlocking it from the inside.
Any thoughts? as this will be the 3rd time I am taking it into MB for a repair.
1st time they cleared the faults and did a reset
2nd time (today) they replaced "the door locking mechanism" within the door, then erased fault codes.
After 2 hours of picking it up, same issue occurred.
See attached video of what is happening.

it’s poor from MB that you spend so much on a vehicle, and simple items such as opening a door become difficult and frustrating.
it’s our time that is wasted going back in and out of the dealership which is what they don’t get.
I am taking mine back at the end of the month so that I can keep a detailed log of when it happens and how many time it happens.
I’ve told them this time around don’t bother returning the car to me until you have driven it around for at least a couple of weeks. I don’t care if someone from the dealership takes it home every night. I just want them to see the issue and somehow diagnose it properly.
its got to be something with the central locking and or brain of the car.
I can see this taking a while to sort out. Lucky we still have 4 years of warranty left.
whatever it is I’ll keep you posted either way.

My Service Manager, and then his top Tech, took my car home and were able to find an elusive problem. Good idea.

just an update on my vehicle Mercedes tech went through it and came up with no faults (standard) then tried to hand the car back
we refused and specifically told them to take it home, to which our sales manager ended up doing.
Day 2 and he hasn’t come across the fault yet but still trying.
he, on the side said that if the fault doesn’t show up on their computer system then he can’t elevate it to the higher powers and claim it under warranty
anyone have any suggestions or had any news updates relating to this same issue.
it seems like a lost cause at the moment
