GLE 450 2024 or 2025
Hi
I知 new to this forum. I had an 2000 ML 320 for about 4 years. Switched to GMC for the last 20 years, but now I知 ready to go back to a midsize SUV. My MB dealership said they might be able to make some changes to one of the 2024 GLE 450痴 that they have on order so it can be somewhat customized to what I need. But now I知 thinking that maybe I should order the 2025 GLE 450. Comparing the 2024 MB GLE order guide to the 2025, the only thing that was not included in the 2025 is the augmented video for navigation. The price for additional items, trim, upholstery, packages, etc seems to be the same. Now I知 thinking that maybe I should order the 2025. Any thoughts?

I think the order banks are closed on the 2024 GLEs so maybe the dealership will try to locate a vehicle close to your specifications. You should be able to get a nice discount on a 2024 and there really isn稚 any significant difference between a 2024 and a 2025. However if you want a custom build exactly to your specifications get the 2025 you might pay a little bit more but you値l get exactly what you want. I believe there is current incentive for 2024 Gle if you have American Express it might be $3000 check with dealership.

Thank you. The dealership knew I was going to custom order a 2024, but didn稚 bother to tell me in the middle of April that ordering for 2024 GLE 450痴 was closed. I set up an appointment last weekend to place my order and that is when I was informed that 2024 orders were closed. But I was told by the dealership that they have orders they already placed and it might be possible for them to request some changes to their one of the orders to customize it my liking. If not, then the only option is to order the 2025 or the 2024 450e. Unfortunately, I do not have an American Express card.

With Augmented Video - after purchase for $200 (thru the Mercedes Me App) you can have it upgraded to include a front dash cam. The Augmented Video and the Front Dash Cam are awesome. Suprised that isn't an option in the 2025. Plus the body style change is coming in 2026 or 2027. The 2024 had a facelift from previous body style.
Have a 2024 GLE450 and the only issue which MB is having in all GLE and GLC is the sewing quality of the seats. They had to replacemy back seat because as it was "deformed" . Their quality control in that department needs new inspectors.

Slight wrinkles at corners, but not as bad as the pictures that gets posted here of the lower tier leather qualities.

I致e had MB Tex, currently have standard leather, and another with Nappa. Personally, yes it痴 nice, would it be a deal breaker for me? No.
Years back when I purchased my w166 , I initially requested leather. Dealer found one with everything I wanted with leather option missing. I found the MB Tex to be quite nice and owned it without any regrets.
As others have mentioned earlier, you may be able to land a decent deal on the 24 over the 25. If the dealer comes across with something that checks all of the boxes at a nice price but missing leather; MB Tex won稚 hurt ya.

I second what others are saying about Amex incentives, they are in addition to what you negotiate with the dealer and any dealer should be able to apply the coupon for you. For Amex, you can apply for a card, get your Amex signup bonus (if you're eligible) AND get Mercedes discount code for $3k dollars. Additionally, you don't have to wait for your card to arrive, you apply, get approved, register your online account and then you can go straight to Amex Truecar to get your code. Name on your Amex account must match the name on your purchase agreement.

It's an incentive for their card holders, it's what Amex is known for.

I believe all official dealers honor it as it comes out of MB USA pocket and not theirs. In a nutshell, it's treated similar to manufacturer's rebates.
You do not have to use Amex card, this amount comes out of your total purchase price, same way the rebates do.

Thank you for the clarifications. Signing up for an Amex card and calling the dealership Monday. If I can get this incentive to work it値l be more than 7% off msrp on a cash deal.

Avoid heavy pokey objects on leather seats
Mine has AMG Black Nappa Leather. I think Nappa has more to do with the tanning process. Regardless I learned the hard way that this leather dents if a pokey object sits on it for too long. In my case it was a bag of golf clubs I left laying across the rear seats for a few days. I was able to iron out 98% of the dents, but a sharp deep crease about 3/8" long ain't moving out. I doubt anyone will notice it, but I've learned my lesson.
