A little long
First noticed the issue after a hard acceleration onto the interstate from the rest stop. The road is very rough, Ky. I thought for a while that it was just the road. After a few miles, the road smoothed out, but the vehicle was still vibrating. It felt like something was catching air and flapping. I stopped on an exit ramp, left the engine running, and did a quick walk around. Nothing. I decided to take the side road to my destination rather than get back on the interstate. The side road is newly paved and very smooth, but the vibration remains. Stopped at a business entrance, shut down, slow walk around, looked underneath, and pulled and pushed panels. Nothing. Restart the engine, back out, and drive. Vibration is gone. Arrived home with no problems.
A few days later, I tried to duplicate the event. Nothing. Of course, the vehicle had not been on the road for hours before these attempts.
Next long trip, Similar situation, hard acceleration onto the interstate from a rest stop, odd vibration, stop at next exit. This time with the engine still running, it feels like the vehicle has a tail and the tail is wagging. The wife says to turn the car off, I do, restart, and the vibration is gone. No more problems, but I did not try any hard acceleration. Stopped at the Knoxville dealer and talked with the service advisor I knew. He has not heard of any similar complaints.

350, I cannot believe I left that off. I have edited the original post to include the model.

Easiest way to check motor mounts is if there is a lot of movement in the following scenarios, have a friend that can help:
Pick a safe place away from traffic and people and obstacles.
Have your friend stand away from the vehicle for safety with the hood popped but still be able to see the engine.
Leave your foot on the brake at all times, put the vehicle in Drive and stab the throttle and let go, basically like revving it.
Do the same when putting the vehicle in Reverse.
Have your friend tell you if there is excess movement or tell them to record a video of it and show you.

Yes, more felt than heard. Like I tried to say, the second occurrence was like the vehicle had a tail and was wagging it after we stopped. Turning off the engine stopped all vibrations. Starting the engine again and the vehicle was back to normal.

hmm. Try it with the active assist : Active Steering Assist, Active Lane Change Assist, Active Emergency Stop Assist, Active Speed Limit Assist, Active Brake Assist w/
Cross-Traffic Function, Evasive Steering Assist, Active Lane Keeping Assist, Active Blind Spot Assist, PRE-SAFE@ PLUS (Rear-End Collision disabled and see if it occurs again. I got a feeling something occurred there.

What do you mean? I keep all of the safety items active. Of course, I do not have the cruise active during acceleration out of a rest stop. I have wondered if the vehicle was getting stuck In determining which wheels should receive power. I should have tried turning off the traction control.
