Hard Gear Shifting - 2025 GLE 450
Has anyone experienced rather hard automatic gear shifting (kicking/jolting) from stop and go, and upon deceleration by taking the foot off the acceleration pedal? The car is new - bought in November last year, and hard to believe having this type of issue.

Ask for a specific (not generic) adaptation. "stand-still" adaptation

Hard Gear Shifting in 2025 GLE 450
If anyone encounters the hard shifting upon acceleration/deceleration, or driving after stopping, especially when the Eco On-Off is active - engine turns off upon stopping, ask the dealer for the following that helped my vehicle after several trips to the dealer over several months' time:
1. Have the dealer perform stand-still adaptation, and make sure the latest version of the transmission software is installed, and
2. Have them check the transmission fluid level.
In my new 2025 GLE 450, the vehicle's transmission software was not up-to-date, and the transmission fluid level was about a quart lower than the recommended level.

2024 GLE 450, 2009 SLK 300
I had the standstill adaptation done on my 2024 GLE450. It seemed to fix the problem. There is a software update out now, but I am leery of having it installed since the standstill adaptation seemed to fix it.

Since then I've had a dealer and an automatic update, but they didn't affect the shifting. I don't know if we're talking about the same update, though.
At least I think there was an update. Now my car stumbles when I'm coming to a stop below 5 mph, when the RPM just drops to zero. It didn't use to do that.
