What's the latest Firmware, MBUX, Navi software version for the GLE

As of March 2025, what's the latest software versions for the systems of the car - dealer installable or app downloaded?
Maps, MBUX, etc.

I'm purchasing a 2021 GLE 450 with CPO from an Atlanta dealer. They said they perform the updates.
I'd like to know what they are so I can check them.

Is there a MB public site where you can find the latest updates available?

Thanks

Latest MBUX version I believe is NTG6/081

Maps should be at least 2024 V22.0 or newer for USA

I wouldn't be too concern with the map updates being outdated during delivery as you can manually update it as long as you have a Mercedes Me subscription and a usb stick and a computer and Internet and time . Although if you can get your dealership to do it, that is the best case. The MBUX version however, you do need XENTRY.

I wouldn't expect any new updates to NTG6 since it's been replaced by NTG7 is in all the new cars.

Landed Atlanta, will UBER to dealer.

so NTG7 xxxxx is the latest?

is it hard to sync the Mercedes Me app to the car to see what’s what?

What are The most important things to ask the salesman to show me how they work before I drive away?

You're looking at at 2021 model so NTG6 will be as far as you can go...and be thankful. NTG7 sucks! I has much less customization and all around loss of function. I totally regret trading up to a 2024 model because of this.

You do gain routines though, but you lose car wash mode, some display styles, standby mode and a few others. What were the other things you hate about it?

Yes it's hard (impossible?) to enable Mercedes Me without the Service Department's help.
Have them do that before you leave.

I'm not sure what routines are.

There is only one usable instrument display and it's not customizable at all unless you count being able to select the content of the center screen between the speedometer and tachometer, but that was available on the old style. I'd like to know what the person who redesigned the Sport display was smoking. Have you seen it?

The loss of static radio station presets on the infotainment screen is also a step back. Yes you can swipe across to scroll through your collection of favorites but there's no instant access. This requires looking away from the road for a longer time.

Several of the color rotations on the interior ambient lighting are gone. Most of the functionality has also been removed from the Mercedes Me app. All you can change now on the vehicle displays tab is the format of the date and time. Light settings interior and exterior lighting options are now limited to the delay for the interior light to turn off and the exterior light switch off delay.

Overall it feels very much like a combination of the legal department and accountants overruling the engineers, with the consumer coming in last. It also looks like they are trying to appeal to a younger demographic without considering the age group of people who are actually financially able to buy a $85k - $100k SUV.

I still have car wash mode in my 2025 -- it actually works a little better than it did in my 2020 (it used to confuse my mirror folding settings). Just press the favorites button to the left of the touch pad (you might have to scroll left of right).

No idea what routines are, can you explain?

One example is, if the temperature reaches a certain degree, turn on heated seat... just as an example. It was first available on NTG 7 and MBUX 3.

Interesting, most people with a 2025 GLC don't have carwash mode anymore, guess they only removed it on the GLC not the GLE. Thanks for confirming.

As for Routines, please kindly see the other post.

I see, thanks for sharing your dislikes of the new system, from what I seen, on MB OS. that had been shown on the new CLA, those aren't back yet : (

It took about 5 hours in the MB Dealer today. They fixed a few dings and scratches while I waited.

mercedes Me app had problems syncing me as a new owner.

The Owners Manual was missing and service dept says they can’t order it for 2021 cars now.

Does anyone find these Owners Manuals in any secondary market? Ebay?

My 2024 does too. I use it all the time. It raises the vehicle quite a bit to allow for the spray to get the underside.

Wait a minute, I know why both of you still have it, you two have MBUX 2.0 NTG 7 on the facelift, the carwash mode and the standby mode etc. was removed on MBUX 3.0 NTG 8, which the 2025 GLC got, it first appeared on the W214 2024 new E-class, it then went to the C236 new CLE and then trickled down to the 2025 model year X254 GLC and W206 C, the NTG 7 system first appeared on the all new W223 S-Class and then the all new W206 C-Class and X254 GLC got it up till 2024 model year, as said, 2025 model year, it got the NTG 8 (MBUX 3.0) system with the Routines.

My 2024 450 has NTG 7. Isn't MBUX 3 considered NTG 8?

I for sure have car wash mode, I have never seen routines and I have dived pretty deeply into settings, unless it's somewhere not noticeable.

I drove a loaner with MBUX 3 and I don't like the look of it as much. The icons on the screen look more like a phone and it feels more cartoony to me. The new features are cool. I was in a 2025 GLC 300e last week and that thing braked on its own. Not emergency stop, but as you were just driving, if the guy in front of me slowed down, the car slowed down automatically as if I had the adaptive cruise control on.

I still think the version on mine has a nicer look and feel but I dislike how they removed some functionality from the previous version of mbux. The first version seemed to have more ways to customize. The 2021 gle loaner I had once, I loved that you could put different screens inside the speedometer and RPM gauge and it seemed to have a lot more UI customization options than what mine can do. It had more themes and allowed you to make custom themes which is something you can't do in the facelifted mbux.

I think that's part of the eco-assist to maximize regen braking.
