Air conditioning condenser 2021 GLE350
My car is 5 months out of warranty and just turned 60k miles. The air conditioning condenser needs replacing. They want $7000 USD for the repair. So far Mercedes is denying it is a known issue even though they had a recall on similar models for a drain hose problem allowing water to collect in the compartment and cause corrosion. My model was not part of that recall. Anyone else have advice for what is my next course of action?

The condenser is in front of the radiator. Debris can come through the grill (stones & such) and damage the condenser

A recall for a drain hose problem has nothing to do with a bad condenser. I would ask the dealer to contact Mercedes to see if they will offer some assistance in paying for part of the repair. If the condenser was hit by debris, contact your insurance company for coverage under your comprehensive policy.

Your quote is away off as well, the compressor is only $1,041.00 and OEM labor hours are 2.9 to remove and replace for your vehicle.
Update: Condenser $1,050, OEM labor hours are 4.4 to remove and replace.

Got it, but still at almost the same cost for the condenser, and an hour and a half more labor, I'm sill not sure how we get to $7K.

Our 2024 GLE350 stopped blowing cold air last week. Its at the dealer, who initially said it was out of freon. Sounds like they topped it off and it was still not blowing cold air. We are getting a new AC Condenser. I can provide the receipt tomorrow or the next day to see what it would have cost. Thankfully under warranty. Car has 28,789 miles on it.
Knowing my wife, she will now want to get something else... haha. sob sob.
