Most owners who have CD collections get a short USB stick - and use their PC/Mac to burn CD's to USB - which is faster - and hold more.
If you hav extensive iTunes collection - export to USB - give you iTunes library without messing with your phone..

I plugged a 64 gig micro sd into the slot and have music forever. Although I mostly use the apple carplay to use Spotify most of the time.

i have the hdd in my '16 gle3504w. don't remember size but it's pretty big. and pretty worthless. you have to load cd's individually. I use the sd slot (don't remember if there is a size limitation). i also use a usb thumbnail drive (christmas music), because the command doesn't handle random so well. you will need to export a playlist to a m3u file. i do it thru itunes. good luck, ron

With my ML I remember I had copied all my files from an SD card. Then it worked pretty well (there were MP3s). If you copy straight from the CD then I think it will only be able to take 10 at a maximum, as the COMAND will not convert the files to MP3, and each CD will take around 700 MB of disk space. Now in my GLS, we either use the bluetooth or Apple Carplay to listen to our tunes.
