Just enter your VIN below and it checks for recalls. I had the dealer check this before I picked up my car so any needed fixes could be addressed beforehand. I did this on the slight chance that a recall had been issued while my car was in transit.

You can also search the MB site below by VIN. The "Autonews" link below says, "The recall covers certain C-class, E-class and CLA cars and GLA and GLC SUVs, all from 2015 through 2017." However, other links don't mention specific models at all. Because the GLE isn't mentioned, I would NOT assume it won't be. Best bet is to regularly check the VIN lookup sites, make sure MB has your current address and check your mail for recall notices. MB is supposed to be notifying owners in late March. The recall repairs are expected to start in July, once parts become available.

This recall wall just announced literally hours ago. Watch the evening national news. Maybe more details will be reported.

thx again. that's the release i saw. mb site only has the airbag sensor. that one does'nt bother me, but a bad fuse is disconcerting. ron

Reports say fires were started from repeated attempts to start the vehicle, so until we know more, I'd be cautious of this.

More Recalls

In addition to the fuse recall, here are a few other MB recalls going on. These affect multiple different models. Recalls of a specific model are based on build date. Once these defects are discovered, the fix is silently applied to all subsequent builds prior to leaving the factory. That's why it's imperative that everyone checks their VIN.

These recalled cars were manufactured from April 23, 2014, to May 10, 2016.

These recalls are for cars manufactured from Jul 19, 2016 to Oct 15, 2016.
