No Auditory Warning When Parking!!!
New GLE 43 Coupe.Only drove it home & parked it in the garage.
I'm backing out & almost to the bushes without hearing any warning sound that I'm getting close.I then put into the garage & get within a few inches of the wall & still don't hear anything.
I used the Mercedes 'i" button to get customer service.I told them that the Lincoln I traded (& my wife's Volvo) both give sound warnings if you're getting too close to the wall of the garage in the front, or the side as you pull out.
The Mercedes customer rep says all the Mercedes no longer give sound warnings & you must rely on your camera to tell if you're getting too close to any object.
I wanted all the safety features possible, even got the premium 3 package.
Finding this out is a BIG letdown for me.

To be honest with you, I didn't even notice this until your post. There are so many visual indicators, I didn't even miss the beeps. With 12 parking sensors, 2 multiple LED warning displays and 4 cameras, having the beeps too would be overkill.
I can certainly understand you missing a familiar feature. Once you get used to having something in a previous car, you expect it in every vehicle. However, trust me. Soon you won't miss the beeps either.

I ordered ALL available safety gizmos with car.If it was available,I got it.
I've been reading the manual on the Parking Assist Parktronic.
pg.176 of online owners manual:
From the sixth segment onwards, you will hear an intermittent warning tone for approximately two seconds.
seventh segment onwards, you will hear a warning tone for approximately two seconds. This indicates that you have reached the minimum distance.
My problem is that I have lost a lot of my high frequency hearing range. If I concentrate real hard,I can barely hear a tone.
Do any of you know how to increase the volume of that warning tone?
I haven't seen how to do that.

Mystery solved. They only beep when you're very close to an object. Looking at the video, it looks like the sixth LED (red ones) inward activates the beeping. As long as only the amber LEDs are illuminated, you won't get any beeps.
Page 176 of the manual explains this in detail.

Yes,I saw that. What I'd like to know is a way to make the tone on the red ones loud enough for me to hear it.
I did do a web search & found a couple years old MB forum entry that said the dealer has a way to increase the volume.I was hoping that recently the owner could do it.

After reading the OP's post, he and I have the exact same car, and it sounds like they are loaded about the same.
I actually wish that mine did NOT beep at me when pulling into the garage. There is something about my garage doors, that my car doesn't like. It will beep on one or the other side when entering the garage. I have 9' wide doors.
Mine will also beep at me when I'm backing up into a stall, and I get close to bush.
As stated by others, there are the lights as well. The beeps do not actually start until you get to the red light as indicated.
What amazes me in all of this, is that some people have features like this, some don't, and MB says that no one should. I don't get it...

Don't put too much faith in what MB Customer Service tells you. I've called them many times. They put me on hold. Sometime they call me back several days later. It's obvious they're just researching reference material. I can read myself. I don't need them to read for me.

Just got back from the dealer. They can actually make TWO adjustments.
First-There are three volume levels.Mine came set at Two.They changed it now at three.
Second-They can change the frequency of the tone.It came set at mid 900's.I have a high-frequency hearing deficit,so they changed the frequency to the only other option, the mid 800's.
My wife & the salesman were in the car & thought that the sound was now very noticeable.
..............me,...........I still can't hear the damn thing.
Oh well,it was worth a try.
Ps. if I wear my hearing aids,i can hear the tone.I don't always wear them. These hearing-aids have the capacity of taking in sound & dropping the frequency to a lower range in which I still have some hearing capacity (called 'Audibility Extender') .

this can't be the only time this has come up. maybe (dealer) see if there is an auxiliary output that can be attached to a beeper. if you can plug an aftermarket bulb combo into reverse lights and get a backup warning sound; there has to be something that would address interior warning sounds for those with your auditory concerns. ron

I have just bought a CLC and I have a high frequency hearing loss and can’t hear a thing when reversing. Did you get use to the car without the beebs? Starting to panic that I’ve made a bad decision.
Kind regards

Yes.It did take awhile to look in the rear-view mirror ,moving my head to better see the red lights in it.
One accessory really helps but I don't always have it in the car to use:
If my wife is in the front passenger seat,I can tell if I'm getting a little too close to something by the severity of her cringe index. As I get closer, the cringe level increases.
Just before I make contact, she'll grab my thigh & painfully squeeze.
Sorry. This is an after-market accessory & is NOT available at your MB parts department.
