Has anyone here tuned their GLE43?

I have a 2017 GLE43, I am thinking of the OE Tuning or Renntech Tuning for my SUV. Just wanted to get some feedback from those who have done it and see if the gas mileage has dropped significantly from the tuned?

I and a few others have the Dinan sport tune. It's a decent upgrade and relatively inexpensive.. also have a berger pedal tune for better throttle response.

Both can be changed on the fly...

Seriously... you're asking about fuel economy with a tune? I really don't track fuel economy. It will be worse with a tune

I did the RaceChip GTS Black + App for $729, This includes a powertrain warranty. I don't know how good the warranty is, as I haven't had to use it. RaceChip claims a 57HP and 84TQ increase. I don't have any way to measure this other then seat of pants, which feels much faster, and I'm measuring 4.5 second 0 to 60's and 1/4 times of 12.8 at 114 MPH. This is without a rollout calculated in. Fast enough for me. Also the economy mode gives me at least a 1 MPG increase at 80 MPH while on the highway.

Really? This is over 1sec quicker than stock GLE43 and on par with W166 ML63 (non-PP) which has 518HP/516TQ.
I have both '15 ML63PP (with 550HP/560TQ) and '19 GLE43 with Dinan piggy (Dinan claims additional 40HP/40TQ which I absolutely do feel).
So I'm skeptical that a GLE43 with any piggy "tune" can come close to ML63PP's 4.5 sec.

According to the DR android APP I'm using before and after 0 to 60 times are...
sport+ TC off 5.3 seconds to 60 MPH
sport+ TC off race mode 4.5 seconds to 60 MPH
Now I can reproduce this closely every time I tested. So I believe it. According to the https://www.zeroto60times.com/ website the 5.3 matches my stock numbers. So I also think the DR software is in line. I think the 9 speed transmission really helps with the acceleration. Try the drag racer APP and see what you get.

this is great result. I'll have to try that app. Does TC off make a difference?

You could be right since I always felt that ML63PP is quicker 0-60 than 4.5-4.6sec MB published numbers state (probably closer to 4).
I guess the question is in what mode does MB publish the 0-60 5.5-5.6sec numbers for GLE43? If you say that in stock S+ you get 5.3 consistently, then MB must be using C, but this is only a guess. In my experience GLE43 in S+ with Dinan in Race (a more conservative "tune" than RC GTS+) is quit quick. Quick enough for me that I stopped thinking of upgrading for more (there is not much more you can do with this engine as it will never be "enough" compared to stock 5.5AMG one) and instead upgraded the brakes (boy did it need it!).

I see up to a half second difference, I found this out by forgetting to turn TC off

Another thing I didn't mention is that the tune I'm using I think has some kind of launch control feature. I find that if I power brake with full throttle for a launch and hold it for a few seconds rather then immediately releasing the brake the engine RPM will come up abruptly. I then release the brake. I don't know if I just discovered this, and it's in sport+ but when I have a chance I will try it with the tune disabled. It sure makes a difference on how the GLE launches. None of this launch control is documented.
I would love to put on better brakes like you did but I'm getting too old for doing that anymore. I agree on the need for a 63s. My lease was up and I was looking for one used, but not abused, and with the condition of the market today the 43 was all I could come up with. I would never buy one new, so I will start looking for one in about a year. All in all right now I'm happy with the GLE43.

So what do people with Race Chip do if car needs to be taken in for diagnostic and warranty repair (assuming you're DIY on maintenance)? There is no way of hiding those enormous wires/cables connected to three(3) sensors (Dinan uses only one(1) and is OEM like looking)? Do you un-install then re-install every time car is taken in (assuming it was taken in at all)?

I’ve taken mine out twice and it’s not a big deal and never had a problem at the stealership

I haven't had to do that yet, took the car for an oil change to the local Mercedes indy. But if I did have to take it to the dealer I don't think it would take long to remove the 3 connectors. All 3 are inline, so you would just remove the RC connectors and re-attach the stock connection. Once you re-figure out how to open the connector it will be a 5 minute job :-)

So a buddy with a Cayenne and I did some spirited driving this am including some 0 to 60 runs...(no track just open deserted roads...)

My GLE43 in sport+ with Dinan sport tune on race mode TC off and pedal tuner in race mode...i was getting 4.6 and 4.7 secs from the DR app. I found that shifting in manual seemed to be a bit quicker and did have some quicker 0 to 10 and 0 to 20 times but overall the times were about the same in auto or Manual... more fun in manual

Overall happy with results for the under $400 investment in tune and pedal box.

The Cayenne (turbo] ran slight quicker 4.3 or so but he has alot more money in his Cayenne than I have in my GLE43.

Overall satisfied with results...

Wow! I have the same modes. Car does feel quick but not that quick. I did not time it (did not try TC off), but on the road it was well behind my son's ML63PP (stock specs 550HP/560TQ, only "mod" is SB). Cayenne Turbo should be quicker (at least on the paper) than ML63PP/GLE63S.
So either you're a very good driver or the guy in Cayenne Turbo is not (or both).

it's not like at a drag strip that can be measured. It's GPS time... anyway 1/2 sec behind a Cayenne turbo (2016) works for me... just some fun...a decent tune can make a difference in driveability...I don't try hard 0 to 60 runs in regular c driving. I like the reduced lag and extra boost for at speed driving. That's where decent tunes can make a difference but are unmeasurable unless tracking
