ECO not working properly - 2016 GLE400
Got my 400 in Nov and the ECO never worked at all all winter. Now with the warm/hot weather, it hardly works at all. Been to the dealer 3 times to no avail. Called Head Office and now awaiting the results of the diag that the dealer did the last time there.
Anyone else with this problem? I know that most would prefer to not have ECO but this problem makes me feel that the car is not 100%. Otherwise the car is great!
My daughter has a C300 with an ECO button that when engaged turns the engine off at stops providing she has more than a 1/4 of a tank of gas. Is that what you have?
i have a 2016 GLE 350 and my vehicle doesn’t have the ECO button but it does display ECO information in the display area between the speedometer and tachometer. I can never get a feeling for the bonus mileage I receive. I kind of make a game out of the display and try and close the circle which I guess means I drive equally with a lead foot and coasting with the wind to my back.

Awaiting trip #8 call
For the other's that have commented about not liking ECO - the "preferable" ECO operation is "if I choose ECO off, then when I start the MB the next time I want ECO off automatically" - and "if I choose ECO on .. vice versa).... and the eBay OBD module programmed by Vladimar does effectively reprogram the ECO that way... like $120...

DETERMINED THE BATTERY WAS FULTY, CAUSING MALFUNCTIN OF ECO START/STOP SYSTEM
I have a 2016 MB GLE400. I bought the car about a year and a half ago. The ECO button never worked (it was never green/engaged on my dashboard, even if the button was enabled at the center console).
I took the car to the dealer, they said the batteries were faulty, so I had replaced both of them (the main and auxiliary), still no luck. One of my friend is a mechanic and he ran a diagnose again -- no errors/faulty codes were found. Does anyone else know what the issue may be?
A second issue that I've been having with this car, only during hot summers (when over 85 F), is that the idle speed suddenly increases when turning on the A/C. Again the damn dealer said it needs to be done some programming for the engine/transmission, it cost me about $400, could not really test it when took the car out because it wasn't that hot. Now this issue obviously did not go away. I even contacted MB and asked if that is a normal behavior or not, and they suggested taking the car to the nearest dealer.
I paid around $1700 with reprogramming, replacing both batteries, diagnose with no success.
I would gladly appreciate if someone else has some other suggestions that could possibly fix my 2 issues.
Thank you!
