I have 2016 GLE 400. I had two instances, almost similar where car shuts off on its own.

First instance was few months ago and had another one this week. It starts with all kinds of warnings going off like blind spot not working, lane assist not working and some other ones, and then all of sudden I cannot gas the car and it stops. Both times I will shut down and then restart in minute and will just work fine. Engine light will be on for few days and then the light is gone as well. First time I did not take it to dealer but this time I did, and they could not find anything wrong.

To me, it almost seems like the computer is getting hung up and needs restart. But I googled and seems like there are few complaints of Mercedes cars shutting off while driving in older models.

Anyone has any insight? Its scary to do that while driving. Luckily both times, I was on inner lane and was able to let car just drift off to the shoulder.

This is a issue that is definitely scary - and best recommendation is you need to get it to your dealer quickly - depending on model - the Mercedes service database will give your dealer specific direction/experience with your 400...

I have the similar issue as you last month. The difference is that it was not when I were dirving. It happened when I powered on the car, it showned with all kinds of warnings going off like blind spot not working, lane assist not working and some other ones, and I can't even start the engine.I shut down and then restart in minute for around 10 times, then suddenly it just work fine. But Engine light will be on for few days and then the light is gone as well.

Just a follow-up. I was wondering anyone has similar problems. It is been 3 years since I had posted and I saw one post with similar problem. I still have it occasionally, may be 1-2 times per year, very random. I have taken it to couple dealers but they could not find any problems. I had reported it to Mercedes but that is useless.

It's interesting topic to search for known issue.
One owner (tech) said it's a high pressure fuel pump and his own word "The problems with direct injected gasoline engines seem to be world wide with all makes. Eventually these intake manifolds and cylinder head ports will get gunky and cause problems". Or it can be just need a software update.

Excuse my ignorance but what is traffic view supposed to do? how does it benefit us from what we can see with our own eyes. I realize there has to be something but I don't know what it is.
