Dinan. There are several threads on it.

Welcome to the GLE forum and the AMG fraternity. It makes a great tow vehicle (see you have the factory hitch). Given you mention the year of warranty left, not sure how a engine tune will impact that, so may want to make sure it can be reversed, but now a days with all the ECU logging and "over the air" nanny connections back to Benz, they may know either way.

Congratulations! I would recommend the Dinan for its easiness of use and very affordable price. But make sure if you want to use the full extent of it to have an andriod phone using andriod 7.0 or less to gain access to its race mode (+4 psi). If not you will be in Sport Plus mode (+3 psi) that comes straight from factory.

does the tune work in all modes? comfort, sport, sport+...moderate increase in each mode?

Yes the tune works in all modes of the car. It will stay on whatever you put the tuner at. The only thing changes is the modes you select in your car which only reprograms the transmission to shift more conservatively or aggressively.

Eurocharged Performance ML63 and TT lambo
congrats! Would love to throw our hat in the mix as well! We have a handheld that we ship that allows you to tune the car from home. It also stores your stock file to flash whenever you want (dealer visits)

We have the package on sale now too! Just bounce me a pm if you are interested

With Dinan set to Race, when car is operated in lower gears (in city setting, not on a freeway) in Comfort it "feels" close to stock(no Dinan) Sport, in Sport it "feels" close to stock Sport+, in Sport+ it "feels"... incredible. There is only a small drop off across all car's modes when Dinan is set to Sport+. Note: even in Race and car in Comfort on a highway while in upper gears (7-9), car is still too slow to downshift. I can not drive GLE43 in Comfort on a freeway. Before Dinan, I always drove in S+ on freeway and in S in the city. When car is driven aggressively in Sport (Dinan in Race) I get exhaust burbs I used to get only in S+ before. With Dinan, I hardly use S+ now (of course I have not driven much in the last 2 months).

this is good to know... my wife is not a timid driver but likes quickness and that's why I want to get tune that she can notice while still in comfort or sport mode.

I have some other vehicles that I run hard and fast on track and around town so I can still have my fun.

For a full disclosure, have to mention that I also have a Sprint Booster (SB) installed. In my experience SB significantly improves (even if not totally eliminates) a significant throttle delay associated with most MB models I've driven/had (all MLs/GLEs have this issue). Without SB, your Dinan experience may fall short of my "seat of pants feel" description in the post above.

got the tune installed, app on old phone worked and set it to race... Good noticable increase in power... in a quick ride around the block... will give it a proper thrashing on Saturday.

did notice a slight throttle lag...I don't think my wife will care... going to drive it for a while abs then decide on sprint booster...I had one on a previous 5 series BMW 535... it was a bit jerky...

Throttle delay is most noticeable in Comfort mode and still noticeable in Sport. Sport+ helps a lot, but I still notice it. IMHO of any mild performance enhancements, any GLE/ML benefits the most from SB, Pedal Box or equivalent.

Combined with SB, Dinan helps car to be enjoyable in Sport and driveable (am mostly a spirited driver) in Comfort modes. Prior to installing Dinan, I was more than content driving in Sport+ with SB installed. Of course driving in Sport+ all the time comes at a cost, hence the addition of Dinan piggy.
