Best Wheel for gle 350d 2017
Hey Guys and Girls,
New to the forum and really hoping someone can help.
I recently purchased a 2017 MERCEDES-BENZ GLE 350 D 4M AMG LINE PREM A with air suspension and 20inch wheels, however i am finding the ride quality rather unbearable when running over pot holes and drain covers. at best case the ride is super firm, and worse case the whole car shakes and the wheel feel like they are losing themselves. Extremely crashy!
My question - is this normal and if so is there anything i can do about this. If it as simple a fix as lowering the wheel size im more than willing to do this but given the costs involved i'd love to know if this will make any difference, and if anyone has had the same issue i would love to hear about it.

Not normal at all but I've found the air suspension on the GLE feels more firm than the standard shock and spring system. How many miles on your GLE? Hope you did your research on the MB diesel engine?

You may want to search OM642 so you are prepared for what is coming with your engine. Did you research the diesel before purchasing?
Anyway, back to your question. Do you have the ADS equipped suspension? If so, you may want to check your suspension and make sure you are not driving around in sport mode since it will cause the vehicle to ride more firmly than in comfort.

I have 20" wheels on a 2017 GLE 350 and I find the ride crashy. The factory Conti LX Sports were terrible in my view. I am now running Conti LX25s and they are more comfortable, but still crashy because of the 20" wheels and small sidewall.

Have you not thought of changing to 18inch alloys to try and improve the ride quality?

No, not referring to the scandal but the emissions system are part of the issues you will face. I've read they will cover the emission system for some additional time. Go to the main page on the forum and search OM642 or you could go to Google and do something similar. The OM642 with Bluetec may be the most problematic engine I've ever seen in an MB.
