Hello all,
I am new to the forums and also new to the AMG world. I recently procured a 2018 GLE 43 AMG SUV not the coupe. I also procured some 22x10.5 Savini BM12s. Looking for some assistance and recommendations on tire selection for these rims. Looking at either 275/40r22 or 275/35r22. Which look better? Ride better? Best company for all weather, etc? Please help!

Neither. Former is a bit tall (but will fit), while later is incorrect load. 275 section on 10.5" rims is a bit narrow IMHO.
Ideal in 22" is 285/35-22 (several excellent and reasonably priced A/S performance choices from Conti, Pirelli and Michelin). 295/35-22 is also possible, but are difficult to source (very limited selection) and are pricey.

so 285/35r22 will ride and look the best? Any one have any pictures they can post?
so 285/35r22 will ride and look the best? YES. Any one have any pictures they can post? NO, but take my word on it.
Just one note on ride. 285/35-22 will certainly ride a bit worse than stock's 21" (if fitted with identical tire, since stock 21" is not a great riding tire) and worse than stock's 20". Acceleration (and to lesser degree braking) will suffer a bit too (due to heavier and taller rotating mass).
However, handing and especially the looks will improve significantly.
Edit: I have to take the last statement back, specifically "significantly", as it was made a bit hastily.

right now I have the 20 on there. With 265/45r20 its pretty smooth. Can still feel ever bump though. Next is the ARMYTRIX ful exhaust.

how about looks? Will the 22 looks good on the suv? Will they make it look too tall?

Looks are subjective. I can not advice on that, just offer an opinion. IMHO 22s look good on GL/GLS (and on new 167 GLE), but not as much on 166 ML/GLE. Just look at GLE43 coupe with 22s. To me hideous due to smallish brakes revealed by 22s. Too much empty space, especially at the rear. GLE63 with magnificent looking (and performing brakes) is a different story on 22s. On GLE43 specifically (and lesser engined GLEs), heavy 22" wheels with heavy 22" tires will actually degrade performance. IMHO 21s already look great on GLE. But it is just me and one should ignore subjective opinion.
Isn't it too late for you anyway, since you've already purchased and hence committed to 22s? And if so, I've already provided objective info on tires which one should not ignore.

ok well we shall see I guess. I placed the order yesterday. Dont know if I can change it or not but Ill just roll with the 22s and call it a day. Also, the BM12s only weigh 33 pounds. I bet those stock wheels weigh every bit of that.
Still trying to decide what kind of tires. Too many reviews out there.
