Our 2018 GLE550e is throwing a B11C11B error message, which I believe is related to an auxiliary battery. I'm amazed that Mercedes felt it necessary to put 4 batteries in this car.
001-982-82-08-26 Primary 12v 92Ah battery was replaced last October and is testing fine at 13+ volts.
000-982-96-08 Auxiliary 12v 12Ah starter battery is the original, but it is testing fine at 12.98 volts.
The 8.7 kWh lithium-ion battery is fine.
So that leaves me with the 000000-004039 auxiliary 12v 1.2Ah battery.
I have searched the forum, please don't get mad at me. Where is the auxiliary battery located? I'm asking based on actual experience or knowledge of the 2018 GLE550e. I know people have the best intentions of assuming everything is the same as other W166 models, but I assure you, the GLE550e always seems to do something a little different. Is it located under the rear seat, and is removal of the seat necessary?
Further to my location question, is there a comprehensive explanation of what the 000000-004039 auxiliary 12v 1.2Ah battery battery does? As you can see in the below image, there are 4 batteries. The one labeled as "C" is already an auxiliary battery; why does this car need a 4th battery?
In my research of the forum and youtube videos, there are many discussions of battery "C" and battery "D", but I haven't seen a discussion when both are found in a car.

There is no 000000-004039 auxiliary 12v 1.2Ah battery in my GLE550e. Mercedes thinks there is, but there isn't. The battery shown in the document you shared is the auxiliary. I replaced it and have not received any error messages yet.
GLE500e, 2017, DE market sale, an auxiliary battery sits below the right rear taillight. Can be seen opening the small opening in the right panel, where a second air tank is.
I am also getting error message Auxiliary Battery Malfunction on my GLE 550e 2018 and am not able to switch to electric driving mode. Otherwise everything else seems OK. Fault code B11C1 is also thrown.
I checked the 12 V 200 CCA 12 Ah battery (000-982-96-08) under the right rear turn light, it read 13.0 V, main battery is good, was replace 4 months ago.
Is there another small battery (000000009504, 000000004039) 12 V 1.2 Ah in GLE 550e?
I checked under the rear seat (both driver and passenger sides) and there's no battery, like in other MB cars.
Should I replace the auxiliary battery in the back, even when it reads 13.0 V?
