I need some help to figure out why this is happening. It thinks I have a car directly in front and brakes automatically for a split second until I pass it. Only happens in LEFT an RIGHT 45 degrees.
I’ve adapted the ADAS system completely. Calibrated Cameras in the windscreen, Calibrated and reset main radar behind the grille. Reset two medium/short range radars in the front bumper. Still no luck… no one knows why.
No fault codes. Yes I have access to Autel inc live data etc
Nerdy part: in live data when this issue happens, the front long range radar (behind the grille) goes to 0 for all values. But only when (I believe the front medium/short range radars) detect the car at a 45* angle.
Although live data only shows the medium/short range radars to kick in from 0-2.5m not sure why
It’s not the front radar that’s the issue. My hunch is with the medium/short range radars on the front. They are good working units. No DTC at all…
Your help is appreciated. Not even MB dealer can figure out why….

Your Front Bumper is "upgraded" to AMG or something?
Yes it is. The bracket that holds the radars is also upgraded to suit the bar…
I would glue the brackets according to the original bumper position relative with car dimensions as the radars are coded with the distances based on original bumper
I think this has been brought up before on these forums. You may want to search.
Options, though expensive, are to replace the front main radar and then the other sensors. There's a guy on these forums that is always talking about the bad trend of solderless circuit board connections and he swears to actually solder the pins in place, though that is beyond my capabilities. He claims that the boards can become oxidized and corroded, and cause weird failures. Not sure how old your car is or the climate where you are, but that is a possible fault area.

Problem SOLVED!
I had to take off the front bumper and install the original bumper central bracket. The issue was that the aftermarket bracket was slightly narrower and lower in terms of radar placement. And the other issue is that the radars were mounted upside down... this is how the aftermarket bracket was made
Anyways, have a look at the photos, the GREEN is the original placement. RED is the problematic placement of the aftermarket bracket.
Aftermarket Bracket Placement of the radars. RED aftermarket. GREEN original working placement. Brackets are one on top of the other to see differences. Orignal placement.
