Hello, I find vehicle forums very informative and frequent many for all my vehicles. That brings me here as the wife and I (actually my wife) really likes the GLE350 4matic. We went to our local dealer to check out GLE's. They didn't have anything we liked, so build mode we went. After building this vehicle with her selected options, we found there's not a huge price difference to a GLE43. I have many questions, but to my surprise, the salesman and sales manager couldn't answer a lot of them. I hope someone here may know.
-What is the difference between GLE350 and GLE43 night packages besides $350.
-What exactly is the laminated windshield and front side windows. Are they tinted?
-Does anyone have the Cabin Air Purifiction system?
I'm sure more questions will pop up as the process proceeds. Thanks...Patrick
the laminated windshield and front window is pretty much a second layer of glass. Not only it had better sound insulation but it provide extra layer of safety in case the glass shatter by any reason. It will keep the shattered glass intact instead of pieces.
I agree. The online AMG build doesn't show it as an option. The build we did at the dealer showed Night Package for the AMG GLE43 at a price of $650. On a GLE350 you add $2900 for AMG option + $300 more for the night pkg. I asked them what is the difference between the two Night pkgs, since it cost $350 more . They had no answer.

Isn't the Night Package only available on GLE63's?
It basically makes everything black that was a different color.
I wouldn't see the difference, because our GLE43 is black to begin with.
All GLE 43's come with the blk package already installed that you have to upgrade to in the 350. An optioned up 350 will be close in price to a 43 but once you start adding packages onto a 43 it adds up. In general for the same optioned car you will spend about 5 grand more for the 43 over a 350.

One big difference, though, is that the 43's are AMG's. That adds some to the overall cost...
Your responses have been really helpful. Trying to determine color. Thinking Polar White w/Night Package or Iridium Silver Metallic. Not sure the silver would need the night pkg.
E55 KEV-Thanks for the pics, happen to have any in Silver with/without Night pkg?

I have been considering the GLE 43 SUV vs. the GLE 350. For the build I'm considering, I actually come up with about a 9K difference between the 2. I wish it was "only" 5K. I think the big ticket difference is that I want the P3 package which is a large price difference in the 350 vs the 43 - ($8230 vs $5010).

In case it is of any benefit, I personally did a short analysis of "Standard Features" in a GLE 350 vs AMG 43 SUV. The following is what I found to be NOT on the 350 but on the 43 as "standard" by looking at the printout for the 2 from the dealer if I were to order one. Note that some of these are extra options that can be added to a 350 or as part of the P1, P2, or P3 packages. I hope this is helpful in your decision-making.

Made a visit to the dealer. Went through the GLE AMG43 build, MBRP of $78,780. The sales Mgr said $74,000, that's all he can do and wouldn't move off of that number. He stated that's 1k under invoice. Disappointed and walked. Not sure what to do as the wife wants the vehicle. Any advice!!!

Yes, call other dealers and get them to give you an "out the door price" too. I called almost all dealers within about 125 miles of me (except one since they barely sale any MBs). Or wait till the end of March and call back on the last day.
Also, do you qualify for any of the company fleet deals? I can never find the page that lists the companies (someone will chime in and list it) but there are numerous companys that MB will give a fleet discount too. If not, do you know anyone who does and will help you out? The GLE coupe gets $500- 000 right now and the GLE SUV gets $1500
Good luck!

I'm no pricing expert on this vehicle, but don't let them them tell you that this is a new model and they can't discount it too much, or that if you order it, discount won't be as great. I totally agree with BACnMercedes comment in that you should try other dealers, or wait until the end of the month when they all want to make that last sale. To me 7% is a really small discount. I have seen discounts in my area (East Coast) easily above 10% but have no idea as to what is customary in your area. I'm curious, did you propose a figure first or is this just what the sales mgr said?
Sales Mgr gave invoice- $1k, that's it, no negotiations. He stated only $3800 in profit for them below invoice. Very short process. Needed to be in the 70k range to even consider. I was thinking 10-15% off msrp. This is eastern Washington dealer with next closest dealers on west coast. Most all dealers checked would have to order.
Does placing an order on a car count as a sale for the dealer, or does it not count until time of the delivery when you sign the paperwork ? I'm not sure, but if I had to guess, I would guess the later, which might mean that waiting until the end of the month might not matter to the dealer in terms of being eager for a sale. Now, with that being said, if you order it and it arrives near the end of the month and they want the sale and not to just add the vehicle to their inventory, they might be a little more flexible.
You could also wait a bit and see if incentives increase as spring comes along and dealers want to move a little more inventory because the next years models will start showing up in August.
