Hello, i am a first time Benz owner and have some questions that i hope someone can help me with.
I purchased a used 2018 AMG GLE63s and it currently has 24k miles on it and services A just came up on the display
The dealer wants $1500 to do a transmission oil change, engine oil change, and air filters, which seem completely ridiculous my question is..
1. what is the procedure for topping off transmission oil as there is no dipstick, is it something i can do my self at home? i do have an OBD2 scan tool to get transmission fluid temp if needed. i have a lift at home and the engine oil change and air filters seem straight forward but i am not sure about the trans so can anyone help me out with the trans service procedure and refill procedure? i would greatly appreciate it.
2. I also do not have a maintenance book so i am not sure what should be done at what millage so help with that would be appreciated also.
I was a tech for 20 years a while ago so have experience but just no manuals or info on these cars, when i was working on vehicles everything had dipsticks so everything was straight forward not sure about now a days lol
any advise would be appreciated as i do not want to pay the dealer for something i can do at home .
Hello
Thank you for the maintenance book. greatly appreciated!
I have attached a pic of the VIN as requested so hopefully someone can give me some tips on setting the transmission level procedure. the filter change should be straight forward just need help on how to set the fluid level. from what i understand i need to pump in fluid then get the trans to a certain tremp and recheck for overflow. but detailed info would be great! (i will attach a pic of the car when it's not dark outside for reference)
thanks again VIN
One last question, my OBD2 reader doesn’t give me transmission temp. So just wanted to know if the transmission temp display in the dash is accurate enough to see when the trans temp gets to 45 degrees Celcius?
oh stealership. they usually push for maintenance at their facility. if you can do it yourself or have a mechanic that's your friend it'd be alot cheaper
