Oh yes you can use the PS4 in the snow at all. You're not supposed to use them under 40 degrees F. Let us know how the Pirellis do when you head to the mountain!
I certainly will like I said, definitely would not be my first choice if I had options. But I think it will get me comfortably to my destination up in the mountains. I will definitely report back after my first winter trip.
Mammoth season total is already near 100 inches and it’s still dumping!
If I had my way I’d stick to 21’s but I guess I’m in for a different ride altogether with the 63 over the 450. I’ve dealt with the Scorpions on 450 with 21’s for 2 winters and they were acceptable in NYC and upstate NY with light snow. We’ll see. I just can’t wait to get the 63 next week.

Yup that and tire socks planning some trips this month. The snow I’ll see in the Sierras will be a lot different than NYC.

Yes sir. Mother Nature is treating us well this season. My local mountains (Big Bear) isn’t seeing much, but the Sierras (Mammoth Mountain) is already over 100” for the season.
They are an alternative to tire chains and cables. They provide additional traction on snow. They look gimmicky, but they actually work quite well.

Any update on Pirelli or Nitto all seasons in 22"? I was considering GLE 63 with 22" but not having reasonably priced options for all season may be a deal breaker. Looks like decent selection for 21" all season but not too keen on esthetics.

Last I checked (last night) Nitto all seasons were still in stock at DiscountTireDirect. I went with a winter set up with 21's and will just swap for the seasons. I don't want to have any trouble when I go snowboarding. Otherwise I'd go Nitto's once I run through the Michelins.

So only choice for me was the Pirelli Scorpion all season on the 22’s. Fronts for some reason expose more rim lip than I would have liked but there’s no other choice. I’m used to the ride since I had them on my 450 and they were overal fine in most conditions for the Northeast.

My tires have been sitting at the tire shop. I’m getting them installed at 10:30 AM today. I’ll take some before and after.

So far just a bit louder with road noise, then the Mitchelins, but barely that much of a noticeable difference coming from summer tires to all seasons. The Mitchelins definitely look better, but I don’t care as my wife is now driving this car primarily and I am driving my new M8 competition.

Hi, Yes, it looks much more pronounced than or the rears. It didn't look so obvious when it had the summer tires. I'm glad to hear that. Never had 22's before

Ah thanks for the extra pics, I think I see the difference now. With the Pirellis its almost like a deeper ridge where the tire and rim meet.

Hi, I'm not sure if you were asking me, but so far its the second latest winter with no snowfall in NYC, so I can't say that I've tested them in snow yet. They have been firn in heavy rain on the highway and so far I can't really complain about them They seem to handle acceptably and are the same tire that I had on my 450 which was ok in the snow. I'll update again if we get any snow.
I'm glad I found this thread.. I was planning to get the Pirelli AS tires for my future GLE but I didn't see that they were discontinued, they're just out of stock everywhere.
The Nittos look good and are about half the price lol, please share your experiences with them once you have it.

Yes, great tires. Very happy with them. Very quiet and the handling is excellent (of course not as good as the OEM Yokohamas, but I did not expect them to be).
