Need help evaluating purchase

Considering a CPO pruchase of GLS 550 or AMG GLE 63 or 63s....first of all whats the difference between the 63 and 63s? Probably looking at a 2017, any issues with these models; I currently drive a GL550, so I understand I am giving up some storage in the back vs the GLS550 but from what I have read it is a better made vehicle than the GLS? Any all information is appreciated, jsut started considering this last night after having spent a month looking for the GLS. Thank you!

GLE/GLS is the same platform built in the same plant. How can the GLE be built better than the GLS?

No more MB:(
GLS and GLE same platform and factory. Both are considered MB mid-level vehicles so quality wise the same. As for engines, 63S will give you more HP if you need it and probably some extra goodies (other can chime in with greater detail). If you are considering a used AMG, pay for an inspection so you know what you are getting into. Regardless of CPO/warranty, there is nothing convenient about chronic car issues. AMG's are sometimes driven hard by the previous owner. Maintenance wise they are more expensive than std MB's but obviously a lot more fun. That being said the 550 is a terrific engine and provides plenty of power.

They're not better, you are correct. Both are mid-level MB.

From a price perspective, would only consider base model GLE's a mid level Benz. The GLS is not really considered mid level and certainly not when you get to the 550, 63's, or Maybach trim.

Price doesn't make it high line. The interiors are identical. GLS is an extended GLE, that's all it is. The Maybach GLS is an extended GLE that's badged up with fancier trim. Sorry but high line Benz is S, SL, G, or AMG GT. GLS will always be mid level. Not even made in Germany.
