Question Coolant Drain Plug Location

I was under the car today doing an oil change and thought about doing a coolant flush as I have the right coolant on hand BUT I couldn't see where the drain plug is located. Where the hell is it?

I hate to be snarky, but I'm not surprised that you don't have a response yet. (I don't have my vehicle yet, or I'd possibly help) Those who do what you are doing to your vehicle (preventative maintenance - on your own) are in a very small minority here. This isn't meant as a perjorative as much as it is a statement about the lifestyles lead by owners of these vehicles. Most are urban (townhomes, high rises, etc.) Sure, you will find folks who will speak up and tell you they do PMs on their own, but it is an extremely small sub-set.

You hate to be snarky... What kind of person posts a moronic statement like that?
I guess you haven't seen all the threads on oil changes, brake pad changes etc... I know I do a far better job than almost any Master Tech and I have the garage spaces, with lift, all the right Starwhille tools etc.

So take your urban **** somewhere else!

Sometimes these parts diagrams give you an idea. Not as much as picture would, but maybe this is helpful :

https://mbparts.mbusa.com/oem-parts/...xlY3RyaWMtZ2Fz

This assumes that you have a 63 as your sig says. My 53 is similar but you can change the search parameters on the site and look around. My GLE is too new to contemplate anything but an OC at this point.

Left (driver's) side bottom corner of the radiator.

You will note that I said that there will be responses from DIY folks, but they will be few and far between-measured against the population of the forum. This is not only for the reasons I stated in my post above, but as the result of Mercedes Benz itself. Mercedes doesn't want you working on your vehicle. For as fine a vehicle as they produce, capacities and specs are largely excluded from any owners manual furnished with your vehicle. Heck, there isn't even a dipstick provided (they don't want you getting your skinny jeans dirty, I suppose) Juxtapose this with the owners manuals for my 3/4 ton diesel, and you can understand the context I'm trying to provide.

Finally, for someone who purports to be the "Charlie Daniels of the torque wrench", the tools you own are known as "Stahlwille", not Starwhille. We use Snap On Tools in the US, FWIW.

"No Dipstick" is an emissions accommodation. Do some research.
Maybe your 53 isn't "MANLY" enough for you. That's on you, not the Forum.

It has nothing to do with emissions; not one of these mentions emissions. You've been crowing about this since I joined the forum. The Germans have been eliminating it because you with the skinny jeans aren't opening the hood. Further, it is the belief by manufacturers that the general populution is increasingly less equipped (and inclined) to check fluids properly, an opinion I share. (My first experience with this silliness was my 2014 BMW M5) Show me the emissions angle; I'll wait...
Lastly, this is a third vehicle for us (really for my wife). If it isn't manly enough, I have two other vehicles that will suffice.

This was a bit harsh. Don't think there was any malicious intent in his answer.

I do like that you asked the question. I intend to do all of my maintenance and will eventually come across this procedure. Only have 1200 miles on my 2021 53 so not quite there yet. I promise to be on the forum and hope you will be as well because the more people on here the better. If I find any info on it I will pass it your way.

What, you are combining an incorrect internet blog with hateful accusations?
Well done.
Perfect display of ignorance.

I work on emissions with the EPA. I know their priorities. Your sources don't, apparently.

And I with the largest environmental company in the US...for 32 years; we have covered this before. Show me the information linking oil dipstick elimination as a consequence of emissions reductions. Still waiting...and having a great deal of fun.
