Planning to go to a dealer this weekend to compare the GLC Coupe and GLE Coupe.
I'm heavily leaning towards the GLC 63S Coupe over the GLE, but I haven't sat in or experienced either first hand yet.
If I look at the national inventory, theres 200+ GLE 63S Coupes available out there, does that mean I'm less likely to have to deal with annoying dealer markup negotiations?
I'd most likely prefer to do a custom order too, not sure if that makes my situation better or worse in regards to dealer markup.

I had three different dealers willing to do MSRP and IMHO there should never be a markup for an ordered car. When I was going to place my order, which I did not becuse NO 811 Burmester, NO multi-countour message seats could be ordered, it was at MSRP and one cent more. Dealers make a mint at MSRP and it is pure greed to ask for more when they literally do the least amount when a car is ordered.

Don’t know about 53’s only 63’s but MB South Bay in LA was very amenable. I dealt with Julian Luna and a manager named Jake. MSRP (actually they reduced it $2k below sticker because it didn’t have an option that I felt was critical to me which was only $1100). They were professional and responsive but I ultimately chose a higher optioned one closer to its destination, again for MSRP despite the starting point with a $10k markup. I would call on them again when I’m in the market.

I hate paying above MSRP but sigh, it is what it is. If AMG wasnt phasing out its 4.0L V8 in favor of the new 4cyl PHEV, I'd just sit on my money and wait.
There was actually a G Wagon on the floor that had a sticker of 150k and a markup of 150k... it was marked as sold... Maybe it was just a prop? Its gotta be right?
My dealer was able to place the order with the massage seats though. At least it went through on their systems, I guess I'll know for sure when the MB factory confirms the order.
The 3D Burmeister system was not available.

Congrats on the order. Glad the message seat opened back up.
It definitely depends on area… I was able to find the MSRP dealers in two different states plus the dealer local to me. The market is softening and the supply chain is catching up. Many dealers have multiple copies of the AMG products so it’s getting closer to normal despite the greed of dealers asking for more. My method was simple and direct, cash for MSRP now. Hopefully this information can be helpful to others searching.
PS - don’t have to buy local…

And true, I don't have to buy local, but I do prefer it since I'll be getting maintenance services done by the dealership for the duration of the warranty anyway (again, I know its not required, but its a personal preference). Between shipping costs and potential future headaches, I decided I'd rather eat the 10k markup than shop nationwide.

Beyond personal preference, you might get better service from the selling dealer for squeaks and rattles, and other "Service Adjustments."
Part of the PDI costs the selling dealer is reimbursed for includes those service adjustments. They have already been paid for the squeaks and rattles.
A non-selling dealer hasn't been paid for that PDI, so if push comes to shove, they may send you back.
It's unlikely, but I've seen it happen.
Beyond that, I believe personal relationship is important, especially in service.
There is a dollar value to that for me.

I place an order (request) last week for a replacement, I was debating for 6 months over options I wish I had gotten the first time and finally just bit the bullet. Unfortunately I don't have much more update there as they don't have any available allocations at the moment.

Same here, but I'm willing to sit it out and wait. Ordered my MY2023 end of August and so far no allocations. On the other end, no markup too, so I just wait. Even when it will be somewhen early next year.

Primary status of "LF03 - Factory Order Confirmed"
Secondary status of "SA01 - Allocated (without end customer)"
Production date of 2/20/2023
The secondary status I find odd..

I'd want clarification.

Also our 911 GTS allocation came same day (a year earlier than expected) so it made the decision easier (/end subtle brag)
