Have been exchanging e-mails with my dealer tonight. Mine just got flipped to a 2023, no high end Burmester now. I’m starting to leak oil on this deal; I’m not out yet, but leaking oil. May need to order a Cayenne GTS or something…

I’m not going to operate that way. I get what I want, or I just won’t buy. I’m talking to my dealer today about potentially changing mine to a 63S SUV. It isn’t (and is) shown in this order guide. Anyway, I’ve decided to spread chips across three vehicle orders: some version of Cayenne (GTS or Turbo) the X5M Competition (I hate that stupid tailgate opening on those BMWs), and this (a 53 or 63S). This is a third vehicle for us, so I can afford to turn my nose up in the air until I get what I want, and plan to do so. I ordered on 12/17/22. I’m sure as heck not just going to take what arrives/what MB decides it has parts for; I’ll give the dealer my $1K deposit and get on with my life before taking something that is less than I want.

Not sure what you mean by the comment I bolded. Looks like no 63S (coupe or SUV) for 2023. My 63S coupe is scheduled to be built third week of this month and it's a 2022. I ordered every option; except running boards, ceramic brakes and track pace app. So now I have to wait and see what isn't available. Anything major that I ordered that isn't available because of shortages I'll pass on the vehicle.

The situation with the V8 models is still uncertain.
The references to it could be leftovers from last year's DOG.
Or, maybe details on the V8 models will be added in later. Hard to say.

I don’t disagree. As I’ve said before, this is a third vehicle. If I’m spending a hundy plus on a third vehicle-I will get precisely what I want or move to another brand. My patience is thinning. I’d ordered the Burmester upgraded system; heck, I hard-loaded this GLE 53 SUV. The Burmester upgrade is randomly no longer available for 2023 (and my order has lapsed to a 2023 from an order of last December). I’ll figure it out-and sure as heck will get something I want.

I'm still waiting on 2022 pricing. I don't suspect too much of a price increase ($2500 or so base) and in addition I have to pay a 12k ADM.

I'm with you - get what you want. If sound is impt then drop 5-6k at a primo sound shop to get the audio soundstage you want or honestly get the Porsche. I am nervous about anyone hacking up the interior on a 100k vehicle but a high-end/reputable sound shop does this all the time. MB vehicles can't be easy to work on though with all the electronics in there. If leasing, then this might not be a good option.
I priced a Cayenne GT loaded up like my optioned 53 and it was like 25k more. Wow. I would just get a 63 then LOL. Too bad the 2023 order guides for the AMG 53/63 and the bigger GLS all show no high end Burmester option. Stinks. Maybe wait a few months and see if the dealer can add it when trying to spec an order? They might open up down the road if they get the parts and let late-order 2023's have the option. (I know, I'd be tired of waiting too)

Local dealer has a ‘21 63s that’s tempting the hell out of me. Loaded except CCB. 8,000 miles selling for brand new price but they’ll CPO and add extended warranty if I want for a price. Hmmmm what mad times that I’m legitimately considering brand new sticker price for a used car.

Twin Cities.
After plopping $4K on my ‘17 to do service B and address an early leaky gasket I’m talking myself into this one with warranty through 2027.

If I buy the ‘21 I’m paying the $5 grand for additional warranty.

Good info. BTW, there are some better prices out there for the extended CPO warranty (years +2 and +3 beyond CPO).
So the real cost of the "B" maintenance is around $1500 or so?
One good question is what is covered on the ELW for CPO ( and would things like that leaky gasket be covered)?

I used to have prepaid maintenance that ended last year. I can tell you they’ve only performed services A & B under the prepaid. They’ve never done transmission fluid at 30,000 miles. Albeit it was a different dealership I used to go to.
Now the big ticket leaky gasket. Well an extended warranty may not cover. Because the technicians language was specific “at some point it needs to be fixed because it can short circuit the alternator or the AC compressor”. An adjustor trying to save money may look at it, look at a warranty that might be expiring in 6 months and say I’ll take my chances. It all depends on whether they have policy about this stuff. They may say “since it’s not needed now it’s not covered”. Or they may just write the check.
The entire business model for extended warranty is that they’re gonna pay less than they collect so I’m aware of that. However for $4 or $5 grand if I can buy peace of mind through 2027 why the heck not. It’s a $130k car. At least that’s how I justify it. Plus Mercedes’ extended warranty is refundable if you sell or total and can be prorated if it’s in effect. At least that’s what they tell me.

Good info and thanks!
The Merc extended CPO should be "easier to deal with" over a third party warranty company I would guess but I really don't know, never had either. That assumes of course that the item in question is covered. I do understand that "they" would prefer to not pay for repairs but a leaking gasket seems to be an issue that should be replaced if it is a "warranty" item. No gasket is supposed to leak...
CPO ELW example contract attached for reference - BTW, you have 30 days from purchase to add an extended MB extended CPO warranty. There are couple of dealers that sell the Mercedes extended warranty for a much lower price that most other dealers will quote you.
Here is a link to an aftermarket warranty a member on MBWorld sells for comparison:

Anyone know what "A" service typically runs? I'm guessing under $500
With prepaid running $1490 for two service and $2190 for three service - there may be some value if it used for more than engine oil changes.

Ok this is a sweeeet ride. Coming from my ‘17 I didn’t think it was gonna be that different. It’s way more comfortable than my E63 was. Rear room is incredible. I love it. The whole truck feels more refined than the previous generation. I do miss the 5.5 exhaust though.
