2024 GLE53 amg suv- you opinion - price and wheels
I ordered a new GLE AMG 53 about six months ago and then decided to wait for the 2024 model year. I configured the car exactly like I wanted and the car has just come in, but learned that not only do they not supply the high-performance braking system on the GLE53 that they do not have 21 inch wheels and supplied my car with 20 inch wheels. They are the classic Mercedes five spoke , I’m not in love with them but very disappointed that Mercedes just went ahead and built the car without any notice and now that the cars in, I’m having a difficult time thinking about paying full MSRP and not getting exactly what I want. I was curious if anybody had knowledge that Mercedes is discounting the vehicles at all these days especially the AMG models and do you think there is a big difference when you go to sell the vehicle when it has the smaller 20 inch wheels versus the 21 inch wheels ? I imagine the 20 inch wheels will ride a little better but it’s hard to compromise when I’ve waited so long I appreciate your thoughts on the discount and the 20 vs 21’s

I would not accept it. Less than 21" wheels AMG or not, is a definite deal breaker for me. It would be a tough sell in the future when you want to get rid of it.

In either of these two cases, is it possible that Mercedes corporate would provide the originally ordered wheels and tires when they become available, at no cost?
That might seem fair.
It's really unfortunate that the Just in Time supply practice broke down.
Plus, the smallest companies at the bottom of the supply chain are the ones who can't find employees and or have closed. Trickle up supply economics.

I understand the disappointment and frustration, but my 53 came with 21" summer tires and I live in New England, where they are dangerous starting at this time of year. When I went to order all season tires, there was just one option in the extended load required with MO1 designation. There is not much to choose from in all season or winter setups for the rears.
