Need ya opinion about my GLE 53 order?

Need ya opinion. The dealer just called me and told me that the carbon fiber wheel can no longer be ordered so ordered the Nappa leather with microfiber wheel, which is obviously not my 1st choice. First could not order ARC, now the carbon fiber wheel, could not order the AMG Fuel cap, and no carbon brakes. Feel like canceling my order for a GLS 450 at this point, but I always wanted an AMG. Should I just keep the order?

I have attached my 53 order just in case I am missing an essential option.

Strictly my opinion* I don't illuminated star.

Aside from that, is augmented reality a standard option not listed anymore?

R02 is all season tires. can they, if you would like, switch it to R01 Summer tires? I placed an order for a replacement GLE53 with the options I missed the first round that had R01 Summer tires with 21" twin spokes. I didn't go through with it as some of my must have options became unavailable due to supply. But I would assume it can be done.

I need all season tires because I live in NY. If I didn’t, I would have gotten the 22 inch multispoke.

Good choice.
The 21" All Season tires will be MO-1, AMG spec. Unknown what brand, and I don't think you can specify or even make a request.

I am surprisingly impressed with my Conti's, since I've been largely Unimpressed with them for a while.
They have been fun to drive on the road or track, great in the wet, and are wearing well.

I have a few thoughts:

1. My salesperson told me that the Driver's Assistance package is essential for resale value. Maybe he was just selling me, or maybe it's true. I'm not a fan, but I have it. I turn everything off.

2. What do you know about the Acoustic package? Find out about the windshield glass. I say this because I had an acoustic package on my 2019 GLE43 and I had tremendous problems with my windshield - replaced 3 times in less than 2 years. Each time, the windshield was easily and significantly damaged by a relatively small rock that had kicked up. First time was within 2 weeks of owning the new car. The last glass guy explained it to me. He said that a windshield is only so thick and when extra noise reducing material is used between the outside and inside glass, the outside glass is thinner and more easily damaged. It was a nightmare, particularly because of what the claims did to my insurance rate. Perhaps the new Acoustic package has been improved, but find out.

3. I have the microfiber and Nappa steering wheel and it's really nice. I didn't want it - I was happy with perforated leather - but I'm glad i have it now. Feels good!

4. If the wagon drives like my 2024 coupe, don't worry. The upgrades are significant and it's a luxurious, yet sporty vehicle.

Why a MB GLS 450?

You are skipping the GLE 450!

AMG is the next tier from a regular MB.

I would focus on exterior appearance and change some of your options.

Thank you so much. I didn’t get Drivers Assistance Package because it takes away from the driving experience plus I am leasing so that’s why I did not get it.

Curious as to your thoughts on how the Drivers Assistance Package takes away from the driving experience?

I'd never have a car w/o it. I love adaptive cruise control, and down here in So. Fla. we have traffic light intersections that are literally 4 minute waits - the ability to have my foot off the brake just resting to go is a godsend...lol

I don't blame you. I couldn't get the V8 in my 2022 order but the 3D was a must. Listened to Communique from Dire Straits via the crappy Sirius bitrate service today and found it very enjoyable... Music buffs can be hard to please lol.... No 3D being available would make me think of / consider a different model for sure.

I was so upset they took it out of the GLE 53 and 63. I really want a GLE, but my stereo is on top of the list of importance for me.

I still kick myself for not getting the 3D.
My build was at $99,000, and I had this mental block about writing $100,000 check for a car! So it was either 3D or ARC so I dropped the 3D.

I don't know what I was thinking. I had the 3D in my 2020, and the Sonic experience was stellar, especially with the sound focus on the driver's seat, where time alignment all came together.

I hardly listen to The standard Bermester cuz it's just a radio.

I really hope they bring it back next model year. It’s wonderful and cannot downgrade my stereo.

Trust me I love the GLE as it is my favorite model, but the 3D Burmester is more important lol.

I am in the same boat as you. I ordered my GLE 53 Coupe with the Carbon Fiber steering wheel and the AMG fuel cap. I also specifically ordered the Carbon Fiber trim so I can get the steering wheel (I hate non-glossy woods). So far I am not aware of any options being removed from my order. I placed the Order the first week of August and the build date is/was September 29th. As of last week, I was told we are still waiting on an update but the delivery ETA is looking good.

As far as I am aware, you can buy an OEM AMG fuel cap on eBay and probably install it yourself. As far as the steering wheel goes, I can understand wanting to cancel your order because of that. The steering wheel is the most touched thing in a car. if it's not what you want it can be annoying getting in the car every day and not touching it/seeing it.

It is really a judgment call. If you can live without the carbon fiber steering wheel and you're heart is set on the AMG (and the dealership provides a nice discount due to the inconvenience) then might as well go for it. If not, then might as well shoot for the GLS and then go for the GLE AMG once the dealership sees that the options you want are actually getting installed on the vehicles. I am patiently and eagerly waiting to see what happens to my build and I may cancel it depending on what options get removed and what compensation the dealership can provide for the inconvenience. At the end of the day these cars are $100K+ so we should not be forced to settle for less.

I canceled my order and ordered a GLS 63 instead. I really wanted the 3D high end Burmester and the carbon fiber wheel plus the red caliper brakes. I am not going to settle for nothing less at this price point.
