2024 AMG GLE 53 HUD problems

I just looked at my repair invoice. They replacdd the "Instrument Cluster Control Unit" Part # 177-900-72-18
They had my car for about 2 weeks and ran all kinds of test before they determined the proper fix as noted above.
this fixed my HUD not operating issue. Zero problems in about 1 year since the they replaced the ICCU.
Prior to that they updated the software twice, once for the HUD and once for the central control module. This did not fix the issue.
This is all I can tell you and I hope that you use this information by giving it to your MB dealer as proven fix.

If you use the toggle button and go to the "i" for infomration it will bring up this screen. I have a 2025 GLS 580 and having the same issue. Sounds like a trip to the dealer is what's needed. I called the dealer and they were trying to convince me I simply wasn't managing my settings correctly (essentially I am dumb) - but I have had HUD for 10 years. First MB. I have never seen HUD not display on Ford, Cadillac, BMW ever....only my first Benz.

The GLE HUD (and all the rest of the fleet HUD) is a very simple device.
one 4/5 pin connector and the white LVDS connector. All it does is project the data it is given. Nothing more. Think of it like a computer monitor.
If the car is "barking" about HUD inoperative, that means the Instrument cluster display module is losing connectivity with it and as such reporting the error. It could be power to the HUD (unlikely), could be the LVDS connector (bad crimp on a batch of the connectors), Could also be software in the IC module.
