2024 GLE 53 Coupe Tune

Hello, I was looking into tuning my GLE 53 Coupe however just curious if anyone here has a stage one or two tune on their GLE 53 and how’s the performance difference? I got a quote for my stage one tune and it was around $6k including parts and everything, just want to know if it’s worth it, I was told that this would be a 70HP gain and going stage two would put me at 550+ HP.

$6k for a tune? No, not worth it.

So what’s a good price for a tune? I knew 6k seemed a little on the higher end, but I’m honestly not sure I’ve never tuned a car before so this is a first for me.

It can if a part affected by the tune fails.

That's a wee bit more than just a tune, LOL. Call Eurocharged and see what they can do. Renntech is very high quality, so you do pay a premium.

oh okay that makes sense, that’s why it’s +80 HP and not 40-45HP like I see from other tunes. I think this will be good power for the GLE 53. I think I’ll do this tune sometime next week. The shop said that a stage 2 tune will cost more than that but it will put me at about 550 HP, so I’ll start at stage one and see the performance difference and possibly go to stage 2.

OK please keep us posted I personally love the car the way it is, nice balance power and luxury, but a tad more grunt could be interesting I had a '19 E63s for several years that I still regret selling! that car was the perfect, and I mean perfect DD I am a dunce so, I now have this one as the DD, and McLaren 650s Spider as the weekend toy

As always, I guess you could say "it depends."

My service department parks all their modded cars in the pickup area. There were 9 Brabus 500 and 800 cars there last week.

The Service Manager doesn't mind, it doesn't affect their factory warranty on other things, and he likes performance addicts.

Once upon a time, the saying was "everything downstream from the modification is affected," regarding warranties. I'm not sure it's quite as literal now.

All fun and games until MB sends a factory tech to read the ECU and denies warranty based on the tune. Lots of MB's have been red flagged and denied warranty work. With that said, yes, there are some dealerships more mod friendly than others and even some that sell Renntech directly. Again, even those dealerships, have been known to have warranty work refused by the factory.

Eurocharged for a tune only with sending out your DME to get unlocked is right around 5k. Its only a flash from their OTS map, not even a custom tune. Totally overpriced and not worth it for only 100hp. I guess thats the possible gains for our cars but the pricing is ridiculous, most tunes cost no more than $2,000, no idea why there is a AMG surcharge here.

I would be very interested in where in the world would Renntech tell you to install the BOV? LOL.
I spoke to multiple people at Renntech and sent them photos of my engine bay and videos and they had no idea where the BOV would go on our 53 2024's but they are quoting you no problem to sell you a part that they dont know where to install.

Why is the Eurocharge tune for GLE53 so much more expensive than for the 63?
My stage 1 tune was less than $1500. I did get a small discount as a repeat customer.
I'm loving my (off the shelf) tune by the way.

That’s exactly what a tune should cost. 5K from Eurocharged, this includes the 1K to ship out the DME for an unlock.
But these prices are still pretty nuts.

The invoice shows $2700 for the tune, so it's not that much higher than your $2k. The rest is hardware, not a surcharge, as I read it.

Do you have comments on the torque curves and other characteristics of the tune? Maybe a fatter midrange is the desire, or more noise, or?
I'm curious why anyone would want a 'custom tune' unless they were in competition under unusual conditions? Pikes Peak?

I'd like to see more comments like the one about BOV placement, which was useful.

Following the inline 6 configuration, the BOV placement should be located at the turbo. Not sure if there were any changes on the 2024 variant though.

Honestly trying to find the best set up for the 53 to get the most performance possible but there isn’t a lot of people who modified their 2024 models yet so I don’t have much to go off right now, if anyone has suggestions please feel free to share as I am new to this.

A Brabus 500 might work for you. Has a warranty.

Hey! I took a look at the brabus b50-500 and I see it says the power increase would put me at 500 HP, however I’m a little confused this is about a 70HP gain from stock but the performance is better by 0.2 seconds for 0-60? This doesn’t seem like a huge performance boost. Correct me if I’m wrong

I'm not familiar with any of these, but my Mercedes service department is impressed with the Brabus stuff that they service.

The YouTuber "Remove Before Race" thinks it adds the mid-range response the car needs.

The 53 is certainly not the fastest 0 to 60 of its competitors, but it's much more complete package than most.

I'll check maybe once a year, and my best 0 to 60 time is 4.9 seconds and I'm at at 5,000 ft.

I have the Brabus 500 kit and achieved 4.2 0-60 on a v-box

maybe I am crazy, and as mentioned previously, I was fortunate enough to own / drive a 2019 E63s sedan for a few years, which was a TOTAL beast for me, since I picked an SUV, this car seems downright perfect balance of performance and comfort I would be afraid, warranty, to mess with any tunes maybe I am the outlier, but the risk / reward curve seems wonky

The Brabus warranty is very comprehensive. I even had installed it by a Brabus authorised Mercedes Main dealer
