2019 GLE 43 AMG Coupe
2026 GLE AMG Coupe now available in my area!

I saw on a couple of dealer's websites that the 2026 models are in stock now in my area, they are gorgeous. Per dealers the SUVs come in plug in but the coupes are mild hybrid. The prices were around 94K to 105K depending on the packages they are equipped with. I have a 2019 GLE 43 AMG Coupe which I have upgraded the grille, here are some pics of my car compared to a 2026 GLE 53 AMG coupe. Will it make sense to shell 105K and get a very similar car (the exterior) that looks like my current one? I guess if I park it on my driveway, not even the noisy neighbor (joking of course) would be able to tell that I bought a new car!! Looking to hear from you all my dear MB friends.

Will it make practical sense - of course not. The hit you take on your perfectly fine 2019 to buy a similar car in all respects that Begins its depreciation journey - yeah, no.

do you just want new and the ability to lean into that during a conversation with the neighbor? (kidding?) Then sure get it, life is short. Do you have cash sitting around that is disposable, then sure get it.

Yep, it won't make sense then. I just wanted something new and as good looking and unique as my current car but if MB releases something similar to my current car even though it has been 7 years since I got mine then what is the point.

2026 GLE 53 coupe hybrid?

I thought the GLE coupe was also coming out in a hybrid version?

They do look similar not gonna lie exterior wise but then the interior will be so different, it really depends if you the driver appreciate a new interior which is what you look at the majority of the time you are driving.

That's fair, thank you. I was expecting a facelift with this year GLE models, but they probably meant a 2026 facelift that gets introduced with their 2027 models.

My $0.02 :
Add the upgraded brakes - this is a heavy car and will benefit from the extra stopping power. Also add ARC if you llike to drive "sporty". If just cruising most days, then probably not much benefit to you.

If you live in a hot climate, consider adding the 4-zone climate as it helps cool the back half of the car with the extra pillar vents.

If you live in a cold climate, consider adding the warmth and comfort package - the heated armrests etc are really nice when it's really cold out and the front seats heat up very fast.

If you add the extra airbags (rear side impact) and active sensing systems (driver assistance pkg) you _might_ get some extra (small) discounts on your car insurance - I did (Amica). Plus you get the Distronic and safety goodies like pre-safe plus and blind spot assist.

If you ever want to tow anything or add a bike carrier, add the trailer hitch now and get it factory installed.

All this puts the car well into the 6 figures. If you don't end up adding anything else you still have a wonderful build there! Enjoy!

I would consider Acoustic Comfort package, the larger brakes, and enhanced exhaust…it is a sports car after all.

I see, from what I seen so far it is mainly a refresh of headlights, I think the screen is also more um "modern" in the form of one huge screen unlike the very nicely laid out screen that flows with the interior (that first appeared on the W213 E-Class when it was revealed in 2016 (?) )

Thanks much, noted. Never thought about it, but that sure sounds like a great option.

What is the upgraded brake called? Is it part of an additional package? Also, would like to get your opinion on HUD, I find it more distracting than useful (never had this option before but watched some videos to see how it works)

  • You went with Night pkg, which blacks out everything. Why the chrome door handles? That might look off. But, if you like it, your call.
  • The Selenite Grey is gorgeous and different from your current black paint. Sharp interior pick.
  • I would skip the running boards. They are too low to be useful and will be in the way when getting out and dirty the back of your pant legs. But, if you like it, your call.
  • From what you have mentioned in the past, IIRC, you mostly drive alone or with the hubby. Being in the same area as me, I doubt you take it to the track and need the brake pkg, 4 zone climate control, or other things that were mentioned.
  • Driving in the DC area, the Driver Assistance Pkg is really useful. I like the Pinnacle Pkg, but certainly not necessary. It will also negate the availability of the lighted star. The Pinnacle is adding cool features and $$$$$. Your budget and comfort, so your choice.

Look under Options (scroll down the page). It is called "AMG High-performance Braking System w/silver calipers".

I don't have the HUD on my 2022 but the wife's 2025 has it and I really like it , esp when using the built-in nav - it shows the turn-by-turn instructions right in front of you - pretty nifty/helpful when in an area I am not familiar with. I have to remove my polarized Maui Jim's as they can block nearly all the HUD when I wear them, which is unavoidable if you use polarized glasses when viewing the HUD.

ARC improves both ride and handling.
You can't see a head-up display with polarized sunglasses.
Buying an SUV without a hitch might reduce your resale opportunities.

If your roads are in poor shape you may enjoy the enhanced ride comfort of smaller wheels, fatter tires.

2026 GLE 53 Coupe
Just ordered a well equipped 2026 GLE 53 AMG Coupe this week....can't wait to get it!

Came close to owning a 2026 X6 M60i, but a few weeks after placing an order depost BMW discontinued the Dynamic Handling pkg. so I pulled out. Thought about getting another Macan GTS but after visting the MB dealership with my wife who was shopping a 2026 CLE 53 AMG coupe, I fell in love with the GLE 53 coupe. So just this past Friday, we ordered both vehicles and got a great deals....or at least I think we did!

I picked up my 63s Coupé 2 weeks ago and then went on vacation. I drove it from Boca Raton to Sarasota today and it’s great. I previously had a 2025 63s Coupé(with bad JuJu) which had to go and a 2024 53 Coupé before that.

These pics are after tint, ppf, ceramic coating and radar hardwired. Enjoy!

GLE 53S

The wife and I set out to the MB dealership to test drive a GLE450, We have survived the last few years with a 2005 BMW 530i, a 2010 F150, and our garage queen 2007 50th Anniversary SL-550. It has been nice not having a car payment for many years but as I am getting closer to 70 years old, I want a little less car repair duty on my plate. After the test drive, we sat down to talk options, colors and the general car BS. My wife took a stroll at some point during process and found a GLE53S sitting amongst a bunch of GLS' on the lot. She called me over and we started a conversation about this AMG.
The outcome was this 53S had a brand-new paint color MANUFAKTOR Silicon Grey which then is paired with a DV9 MANUFAKTOR package which rounds out this SUV very nicely. $98,550-$7500 made the walk-out price $98,328. I believe the car is very well equipped and honestly with that package it is a value with all things considered.
I realize I did not jot down all the bells and whistles I was just wondering about any input before I buy this vehicle.

Sounds like a nice car. Currently, all Mercedes autos have a 2,000 rebate if you finance with them at 1.6 I believe. Knowing this might get you an extra 2,000 off. Aslo, if you have AAA that is 500 off.

Hmmmm he says.
If it has AMG ARC I'd snap it up!
The seats will be firmer but the ride will be better than a stock 450 with air or steel springs.
