'14 GLK250 Diesel
The car won't be available until January, and MBUSA likely doesn't want to commit until much closer to actual launch.
I'm guessing just short of $40k for AWD as a base price - you know, something like $38,995 plus destination chg. But it could easily be more, and you start to wonder what's the point? The ML starts in the mid-40s....

In Canada the GL starts at $71,500,
The ML starts at $59,900
So I would guess the GLK to start at around the $48-50K range.
seems likly the gap will be about 10K
Also the C starts at 35K.
Just like the new C and its price point against the 3 Series the new GLK vs the X3 should also be priced very strong with HIGH level of standerd features.
My guess is this will easly out sell the aging X3.

2008 R350 & 2008 C300
Magazine and internet rumors have the GLK taking on the current C class pricing, which scares me a bit. A C350 starts at $39k with no options, but can go as low as $33k for a rear drive C300 with no options. So far articles posted here claim that the GLK will only come as a 350 in the States which sounds like a death wish to me. A ML350 with P1 can be easily had for $43-$45k and when you add P1 to a GLK 350 your looking at the exact same price range. Something has to give, but I'm still willing to bet they will offer the whole line of GLK models here starting with a base 300 rear drive going up to a 320 4matic Bluetec. I got my fingers crossed, I've said on this board before and I'll say it again, I like this idea for a small utility based off the C class but the pricing rumors are making me think it would have been a smarter idea to just give the States the C Estate wagon and been done with it.

The GLK is built on the C-class platform, so price simularity seems natural.
MBUSA website currently indicates only the GLK350 gasser for next year.
Agree with the C-class station wagon as better choice, as it doesn't merit folks claiming it "looks like a Subaru with a Chinese copy of a Mercedes grille tacked on."

The GLK will no doubt cannabalize sales from the ML but nevertheless with a potentially new release of the next generation ML just about the same time as the GLK im sure sales for both wont disappoint MB ??

My wife wants one. I think the estate would be better too, however she will not drive it if its a station wagon or minivan.
I could have got a killer deal on a diesel R class- but NOOO.

Ya, But the timing is perfect for it. ML production is being cut back by 40,000 units. Due to gas prices, so it wont hurt the ML sales cus prodution will be cut back anyway. The GLK will offer 4matic for off road and other uses but at a better purchace price and gas prices, while still giving the room of an SUV that some need or want.

I stand corrected. The GLK350 2wd will have a base price of $33,900 and the GLK350 awd will have a base of $35,900.

well Canadian price is out for the GLK.
GLK350 with pano roof 4matic being the base unit, is starting at only $41,800.
This is a VERY BIG surprise, a C230 4 matic is $39,900 and now you can get a GLK 350 4 Matic WITH a pano roof for only $1900 more!!!
Iv heard the residuals will be 60% on a 24k lease, and 5.9% lease rate.
If this is true, the payments should be awsome!!!!
