Anyone talk Lease Rates?
Im seeing the demos are into dealers. Wondering if anyone talked to them about lease rates and residuals? I would really love to get the GLK as soon as I sell my BMW 335i but if its going to cost more then the ML350 I dont see a point. The main selling point on the GLK over the ML to me is the styling but Im not willing to pay a ton more for that.

There are no rates out at the moment, but I doubt they will come in higher than the ML. The whole point of the GLK was to build a car smaller than the ML and at a lower price point. Although, I just built one fully optioned out and it came to $54,415 including destination.

Residual
I saw a post on another forum which claimed that MB Canada set the residual on a three year lease at 63%. You can actually go on the MB Canada website and build and price a GLK - it will give you lease numbers, which should provide a pretty handy point of reference when you begin negotiating your lease. My dealer here in NY told me they'll have numbers 1/3 or 1/4.

Our dealership will be offering a special lease program for the GLK when it arrives in January. From what I understand, it will be a really attractive one too. The one mistake MB made when the C Class made its debut was an unattractive lease offer on it. They were leasing for E Class money. We are pushing one of the biggest GLK inventories in the nation. I urge anybody to visit or mainpage of www.mbwestminster.com.
We have also put together a separate page specifically designed for the new GLK. Definitely take a look and if you have any questions, you can always ask me

Low mileage residual
Actually I just talked to him again, it's 64% for low mileage (36k km 3 years), and 5.9%. Not sure if it's published or not in the US, but this comes from a Canadian dealer.
I think the interest rate may come down, but so will the residual.
We cannot take delivery until after the new year.

Do not listen to ANY information, until the cars are released. ESPECIALLY if the info is coming from Canada. That's silly, no offense to you. I just don't get why dealers are doing that. There has been NO market support at all yet on this car. I would just sit tight if I were you instead of listening to hearsay.

The MBUSA website doesn't have lease info for the GLK yet, but the MB Canada website does.
A GLK with an MSRP of 48k CDN would lease for 688/mo CDN with no money down and 18k km/yr, 36 months. As best I can figure this translates to a MSRP of 39800 USD and a monthly nut of 570 USD for 36 mos. Of course I have no idea if MBUSA will offer a similar deal.
The local dealer here on LI in NY told us he'd have figures within the next few days. Will be interesting to see what he comes up with. I'll post when I get the info.

Residuals are 54% for 36 mo and 63% for 24 mo
Got an email from my dealer here on LI in NY yesterday advising me that the 24 month residual will be 63% and the 36 month residual will be 54%. I've requested money factors; when and if I get them, I'll post them.

Money Factors and Residuals
Dealer here on LI in NY just emailed me with corrected/updated info - this is a direct quote:
Residual for 36 months @ 15k mi/yr….51% (sorry, 54% was a low mileage lease)
Money Factor…...0.00197 (equates to approx. 4.75%)
Result: Using an average equipped GLK; a no money down lease paying taxes and fees up front is approx. 615 – 625 /mo
Residual for 36 months @ 15k mi/yr….51% (sorry, 54% was a low mileage lease)
Money Factor…...0.00197 (equates to approx. 4.75%)

54% is on a 10k/ lease, not a low mileage one. 15k is 51% and 7500k is 56%. It's for a 39 month, not a 36. 39 is value added, 36 isn't. he's using the advertised lease GLK MSRP. That lease may be a direct quote, but payment is not right. He's using a higher money factor. That money factor is buy rate. Expect a rate of approx .00227.

i agree lease money factor is high -- with MUCH lower money factor and deep discounts off MSRP on ML350 and ML320 you can lease one of them -- with a stikcer 10k higher thna GLK for less money -- do the math
ALso I am in Boston and Herb Chambers is doing his usual crap job of promoting the car -- test drove GLK last Friday and Salesman just called and still would not give me any solid info in the options on cars "Driving up from MAryland" -- jeeez. Told me the GLK would be between 34 and 43K -- pretty evident I know more about this model than he does....
If i can convince the wife I think I will just get her an ML lease -- no sense leasing GLK for more money....

993 Twin Turbo
I spent part of tonight checking out the shipment my local dealer got today. 90% being white with black, a few black/black and one silver.
All stickered near $50K! Actually, $47k-$49K.
You dont get xenons until you approach the $49K mark -- too much money, I am really disapointed. Quality could be higher, me thinks. Spent time opening and shutting doors, climbing into the back seats. I find that epecially with the running board option (which they all had) its kinda hard to get in and out of these things. B and C pillars are far forward into the door opening not helping matters much. Although there is some safety in this layout.
All in all, I dont think I am interested. I dont see much value especially since my salesman says the ML is the same out of pocket.
Oh well, it was fun while it lasted

wife's car2014 ml350
well it seems like to me you can lease pretty much a fully loaded GLK for the same price you can lease a stripped down ml350, why is that such a good deal on the ml, plus there is a shortage on ml's so they are bringing in top dollar.

It all depends on whether the dealer are going to sell at MSRP or a little below on the GLK -- or down at invoice or so.
These national lease ads mean nothing -- except to give us the residual and money factors -- the ads assume you are paying MSRP, asnd what mook does that?
Read the ML lease threads above, the dealers are cap costing the MLs at Invoice and below -- meaning 7 - 9 K off the sticker -- when you do a lease based on that you end up in the $525 - $575 range depending on the options on the car with NO MONEY DOWN -- for a car whose MSRP is up/ down of 55K. Between the low negotiated cap cost and the miniscule money factor (.0008), it's a great deal
with the GLK, on the other hand it SEEMS the dealers are trying to keep it at around MSRP -- and the money factor is horrible. so , for a car the MSRP is up/down of 43K -- the lease with no money down is $600-$650. Seems kind of dumb to me, versus the ML.
We need to find out if the dealers will come down to invoice or thereabouts. It may be a "hot" car , but it's an SUV and this is January 2009.... not 1999.
I like the GLK and would lease one at around $500 a month nicely equipped - no money down, but you ca'nt get near that number unless they will cap cost it near Invoice, not MSRP.
Would love to hear from anyone that's tried to negotiate them down on this car...
