Wood Dash Kit Install Pics

As most of you know, the early builds had no wood trim. This kit is from http://www.wooddashexperts.com/2010-...ain-dash-kits/. Installed are the main kit, additional kit and door trim kit. I selected the premium real burlswood. The whole center consol and dash pieces fitted outstanding. Some of the door trim didn’t fit as well and shows some of the aluminum. Overall I am pleased and the wife is totally happy with HER GLK.

Thanks for showing those pic of the wood trim. I have to admit it does look better than I thought for an aftermarket install.

The strange thing about the aluminium trim that my GLK came with is that everyone likes it, especially those who have wood trim on their own vehicles. I guess its just a matter of the "grass is always greener". I personally think the aluminium gives it a very industrial high tech look but thats just my own opinion.

Glad to hear your wife is pleased, at the end of the day thats the most important thing.

Not my cup of tea. I saw the wood trim today and have no regrets ordering alum. trim. This pics have WAY too much wood makes it look too tacky. Steering wheel and cd panel is overkill, I think it could look much better with a few pieces removed.

Looks like good install tho, like the doors.

Thanks, true the wheel didn't look right. Also removed the two round upper vents. Easy to remove & updated pics.

+3, I would just cover the aluminum surface, plus the piano glossy area in a/c control and ash tray. It might be a good solution to cover scratches. I know they also have carbon kit, that would be my choice.

But again, its all about personal taste. The manufacturer of the kit did a very good job laser cut so many pieces. Are they easy to apply and stay?

+4 maybe if less wood gloss, flat finish would be less plastic like... personal taste. but ya, I agree with yualfred, the cut does look good and easy removal is always a plus.

A little too much wood for my taste. But like others have stated, the cut does look perfect for an aftermarket kit. Personally, I would have just covered up the areas that have aluminum if I was after the wood look. But looks like a good install.

They have many materials/finishes for the trim, from the woodview website. I prefer the dark carbon fiber.

If i may kindly ask how was the install ?? Were you able to do it yourself or did a shop do it ??? Id be interested in one of their many kits for either the Silver Aliminum or even the Carbon Fiber ?? Sorry the wood look just isnt me but hey to each their own no ??

I ordered my GLK (Belgium/Europe) with the original alumium kit. I do not understand why they leave the centre console in that shiny black. If you order wood, the central console is also in wood. Is it not possible to order only the console pieces in alu ?

fragil, at lease in US and Canada, the glossy black (is it just plastic?) is the ONLY option to come with Aluminum trim. I am actually thinking of getting a carbon fiber kit to cover this. The only thing is that you have to order the whole kit, instead of just a few pieces.

i like the brushed one, the silver is too shiny for large area.
