2010 X1

All I can say looks 10x better than the glk just wish it had dual exhaust. Im guessing pricing would be the same or cheaper than the GLK. If I didnt own a ML I would be so on this beauty. BMW back in my opinion.

Again, looks are very subjective! I think it looks like a monster trying to escape from a cage. GLK looks better from my perspective!!

Looks like a Hyundai SUV from the rear 3/4's. The X3 was tired looking and this new one doesn't look much better. Stick with the GLK...

I couldn't disagree with you more and I don't have a GLK.

I couldn't disagree with you more. X1 looks more like a wagon or 5 door hatchback. I have parked the GLK next to an X3 and they are very different. An X1 can't even compare. BMW sedans, X5 are great but the X1,X3 and X6 don't have it.

Not my cup of tea, a little to simple. I liked the aggressive styling, more edges on the GLK, rather than a typical oval shape...

This is not unique to bimmer, you have the option, just like GLK offroad package (not available in US) They also have these plastic trims. Makes sense if you are always going "off trails"

I don't see any hateful comments here. I am a 1st time MB (GL 320) owner and I simply do not find the appearance of the X1 appealing. IMO, it has a hatchback economy car look.

but mercedes let you choose that option which is prefectly fine if you plan to take it off road....bmw forces you to accept the unpainted plastic regardless if you are going off road or not (here in the states). they toned down the amount of unpainted plastic at the x3 refresh but I stll don't like the way it looks. I would predict that the majority of the x3 owners and the future x1 owners will not take it off road .

Looks much better than the X3, that's for sure!

To me it looks very similar to the EX 35 or even bits of the Q5 with all the rounded edges...it's just ok for me, nothing special actually. It's also probabaly a few years over due, considering the X3 has been out forever without any major changes / facelifts...

And I agree, the back would look much nicer with a dual exhaust...personally I think that's where Audi even dropped the ball with their new 2009 A4 2.0 Quattro, with the single exhaust instead of the dual.

I guess for bimmer owners, its an option of take it off. ie, x3 with sports package will rid of the plastic trims.

RE: how the GLK looks, I find the people I speak with, they either love it or hate it...for me, I liked it from the get go, such a unique look and style - it's good to be a little different, no?

Agreed 100x I don't know why they continue to ruin the appearance of nice vehicles with all that molded plastic.

not bashing it, just stated how I felt, its not my cup of tea. Its the typical blend SUV looks, while I like the edge aggressive styling of the GLK.

I am not feeling the unpainted black moldings/trims everywhere...It makes the car look cheap. Even Toyota RAV4 has better outside trim paint job than this

I think the 3 series coupe should be the best looking car across all BMWs now, even their new 7 series looks so awful....!! very disappointed with bimmer. Audi and Benz are doing much better with designing their cars!
