Canadian GLK) Daylight running = Low beam always ON ?
I really don't know.
If I set my car, to "Auto Headlight (A) or (O=off) then Low Beam is always turned on during daytime.
From my previous car,
If I set Headlight to "A=Auto" in daytime then Daylight(small light) would be run not turned on Low beam.
But for Canadian GLK model.
Headlight "Auto(A) = "Off(O)" and Always Low beam ON even during sunny day at the situation of Auto/OFF.
Is it normal?
In US you can disable DLR thru MDF, in Canada DRL is always on from what I read.
EDIT: didn't notice at first that yoh have Canadian GLK.

I also know it is by law.
The thing what I wanted to know is~ why DRL = Low beam.
My previous bmw 3 series, it has DRL but it was not "Low beam always ON"
It is "day running light with 5W", not 55w Halogen low beam or 35W Xenon Low beam.
Mine has OEM Bi-zenons and I don't want to turn its Xenon low beam on during daytime.
Some of benz models has DRL with 5W or 10W DRL not 55W/35W Low beam.
Why GLK has difference comparing with other benz models????
Bimmers and audis are exceptions now with angel eyes and LEDs as DRLs.
Isn't point of DRL to be visible? so till MB has a set of dedicated DLRs you'll have to deal with xenons being on during daytime or find mechanic who can disable it.
