2010 GLK Oct. production
I was told by a salesperson that GLK's starting to get manufactured in October will have GLKx designation and will have chrome roof rail and 20 inch wheels standard even on the base model, also they will be reshuffling the option packages for Canada.
Any one knows what the re-shuffle of the packages will be? What will they be taking away if anything for giving chrome roof rail and 20 inch wheels as standard item

Interesting info.... Since this came from the sales guy I guess he didn't know what the new packages will be or has any insight on them. I don't remember reading any info on this. Your post is the first info that I have read. Which dealer are you dealing with?

and ML will be MLx and GL will be GLx? Unless they want to differentiate between AWD and RWD GLK as ML and GL come with 4matic standard. But then are we gonna have C300x?

20's standard? I find it hard to believe. Why don't they make 18's standard esp. for Canada.

My salesman told me by September, the price will increase, I was not believe what he said back then, Now I think the new features for base model would come with the price increase.

Here's what I heard from my sales guy at the Maple, ON MB location when I called to check on the production status of my GLK - it's being built as we speak - YAY!
Prices are indeed going up on the GLK for October 1st, 2009. It's looking like a $1,500 - $1,800 CDN MSRP increase - not sure if this will be the same for the US.

Interesting...and it looks like the premium package is now $2,000, but does not include the sunroof anymore. The sunroof is now a separate option, which cost $1,500. So, bottom line, to get the premium package + the sunroof, it will cost you the same price than before - $3,500.
I'm just wondering what the dealerships would do the ones that they actually have in stock. They should be $300 cheaper than the ones coming? So, there are probably some good deals to make out there...

Remember, prior to 2008 revamp, the C-class was fully of options, individual options. According to my sales guy, the ordering process was too complicated for avg. Joe, so they made it simpler, P1 or P2, MM etc.
To me, MB just copied the Japanese automakers. Now they are retracting that it seems.

I just checked its GLK MSRP from MB canada site..
Yes, the base price has been gone up to Cad$42,900. It was $41,800.

So basically it looks like a wash when all is said and done, with a possible minor increase to the MSRP - I really do wonder what prompted MB to go with the standard 20's - perhaps that's all they were selling and got rid of the 19's alltogether.
