I just thought it would be easier to start a new thread and post all of our questions, remarks, and comments in one new thread. In my older thread, I only had two choices of tires, but on further review I like the Pirelli Scorpion Ice & Snow Tires as well.

I am at the moment discussing with him cash only deals, which most of us can figure out what it saves (you can PM if not sure). Here are the three Tires I like, and prices include TAXES (13% in Canada).

17" Packages will have 235/60-17 tire size, and your choice of wheel. 18" Packages will have 235/55-17 tire size.

17" Inch Package - Wheels and tires will be installed and balanced.
1. Bridgestone Blizzak WS60+ MB52 Rim - Package Price 1450
2. Pirelli Scorpion Ice & Snow + MB52 Rim - Package Price 1500

I choose these since, for winter tires the less the spokes, the better they are in general view.

Once again these prices are just what I got, I would like to see how much interest is out there, so I can neg a better price. If you are out of town and like the prices or anything I can buy them for you and ship them (you pay shipping, can paypal me the money), just to help fellow members out. If anyone else is out there, who can get better pricing, please let me know, can use that as leverage to get better price, or I don't mind ordering from you. At the end the goal is to save $$$, get a good rim and tire package for all.

One thing I forgot to add quickly. The place where I went on Saturday, apparently they received a very good deal on certified MB AMG rims for $239 each (17"). These are actual MB rims and not knock-offs...

 

What's there condition? Used or new? Any pics?

 

Brand new, they are procuring the rims from the MB Mississauga location...no pics yet. He was supposed to have them on Saturday, but they didn't ship to the shop on time. They should have them this week. I'll see if I can have him take some pics for me.

Ok folks, let's keep these discussions to some sane pricing only please

 

The pricing I received is also for the WS60 Blizzak's and is pretty much on par to the price you have received with the knock-off MB rims. I didn't even bother to ask about the Pirelli's as I thought they would be significanly more. But looking at the deal you are getting, seems like a good buy to me.

I am still waiting to get more details on the MB 17" AMG's...

 

Why are they charging $600 for wheel sensors, I thought the Canadian models used the ABS system to monitor the tire pressure and hence have no sensors?

why did you choose the Pirellis over the Blizzaks? the Buffalo guy said the Blizzaks are better.

what is the offset for the GLK 17's?

 

Wheel offset for OEM 17" from MB is 1.87in (47.5mm)

 

In doing research in the 17's you only have two choices. Please go to tirerack and have a quick peek. Mercedes also tests and recommends the Pirelli's. I can't post the chart here, but if you were to go, I believe the Pirelli's # 1 in the online survey.

Now its a matter of personal choice, personally I like cornering stabily, noise and ride comfort are important, and to lose slight performance in snow its okay. But just my two cents. The offset is 47.5

I got some numbers from my local tires shop today. It seem Baby-G got a better deal.

17" Winter Tires 235/60R17: ($5.84 government recycle fee)
Bridgestone Blizzak WS60 @ $188 + 5.84 (188+5.84) x 4 x 1.13 = $876.16
Pirelli Winter Carving Edge @ $198 + 5.84 (198+5.84) x 4 x 1.13 = $921.36

17" Wheels:
17" Silver Color @ $140 140 x 4 x 1.13 = $632.80
17" Silver Color w/black line @ $145 145 x 4 x 1.13 = $655.40

So, a set of WS60 + wheels = $1509, and there is no cash deal saving. You know what I mean.


18" Winter Tires 235/55R18:

Folks, these are the best prices he can do on the 17".. I just spoke with him he is running a little low on the rims, so for the current prices who is in?

 

I'm going to go with my guy and the AMG MB rims, because of this I am out (now I am sounding like one of the Sharks..LOL)

I have tire and rim protection for my GLK, so if I go with MB licensed products I'll be covered for both my summer and winter shoes and rims

I am ordering my set tomorrow since he is running low on MB52, but he might have another rim option which might be slightly cheaper. Will fill you guys in, once I came back. I am planning on going with the 17", and the WS60's.
