Heated Seats settings

Has anyone been able to change it so the heated seats don't lower the intensity automatically? It's like 5 minutes at level 3 and then its down to 2. Is there no setting to keep it at what I tell it?

Arrow Plz. Read the Manual

Pez, there are no 'settings' for the Heated Seats.
Here's an explanation on page. 84 in the 'manual'....

The seat heating switches from level 3 (high)
to level 2 after approximately 5 minutes.
The seat heating switches from level 2 to level
1 (low) after approximately 10 minutes.
After approximately 20 minutes in level 1, the
seat heating switches off automatically.

This is why I love this forum. Always get answers that perplex me. Most of time just too lazy to pick up manual. I just re-set cuz I like warm buns.

I am guessing that MB doesn't want drivers falling asleep at the wheel. The warmer you are the more likely you will get very comfortable and might relax a bit to much. Just a guess

Maybe that's also the reason for the "overly firm" Benz seats Michael Karesh complained about in the linked article.

Actually, the only M-B seat complaints I've personally heard were from folks who were a little broad in the beam.

Have to say at first the seats kind of bugged me - seemed overly stiff. I had always owned big, plushy domestics.

But then I had to take a 12-hour road trip and when it was over my feelings changed 180-degrees. MB's, to me, have the most comfortable, ergonomic seats out there. Like everything else about the car it just grows and grows on you. Someone said on here recently that all Benz's have soul. I agree with that statement.

But if some one is 250++, they may just need a sofa installed instead. No seat will really be comfortable and MB doesn't design for this type of girth.

That's the only option we didn't get.... most of the year it's too warm for it down here, besides, the real reason MB auto-reduces the heat settings is that seat heaters decay the foam padding/vinyl/leather faster.

You can always just push the button and turn it back to 3 if it's not warm enough for you.
