whistling sound

Not sure if it's because the windsheild is so pronounced or if it was just real windy the last couple of days but I can hear a very annoying whistle sound when going above 55 MPH. The sound does come and go and is not noticable at slower speeds. Hope it's not a bad seal or anything. For the record, I do no have the panorama sun roof. Any thoughts?

Hard to say... The best way to determine where it's coming from is to slightly open and close the windows/pan-roof as you drive. If the noise continues, check your outside rear view mirrors, windshield wiper position, then open the hood and check the engine rubber shrouding for a firm tight fit. (Mine was off and hanging down.) If these things don't work out, have a passenger ride with you to look for the whistling location as you safely keep your eyes on the road.

Good luck.

I have a similar issue on my GLK but mine does have a panaromic roof. I'm sending the vehicle in for a check on this as well as certain other issues. Considering I get a positive answer from them, I will post up the solution for you. >:o)

Here are a few...

1. CD Changer not reading any Audio CDs or MP3s but plays DVDs ok.

2. Leakage of Wind Noise heard inside the cabin at times while driving.. Could be from the panaromic roof

3. Chrome Beading of LHS Rear door not alligned with that of LHS Front door.

Well guys... heres the outcome from the MB Dealer:

1. The CD player was completely replaced under warranty (Jobs done)
2. The leaking sound was apparently coming from .. and I quote: "Non-Aligned Doors" .. hmmmmm .. .. They asked me to keep the vehicle in for another week to which I said Ill take it back and bring it in on another day.

What do you think?

Does this explain why your chrome strips don't allign... or is that issue simply cosmetic?

Nope .. the chrome strips at the bottom of the rear windows are a completely different issue.
