I always avoid using dealer's car wash. Even when i take my car in for service i specifically request not to wash my car.
Car washes even the so called "hand wash" car washes leave small swirl marks on your paint. Wouldn't want to see a MB without proper shine on the paint.

You might as well rub a rock against your car's paint. I also avoid dealership car washes and their offers for detailing my car...I've just had too many bad experiences.
I've had my car detailed by my specialist(http://www.tamparacing.com/forums/pr...-sl65-amg.html) and I had to take my SL to the MB dealer to check on the top after it was done...I specifically told my SA NOT to get it washed.
Murphy's Law...they went ahead and washed it and I ended up having to get my hood re-done since there were etchings from whatever they were wiping my car down with...
It may be free but it really isn't in the long run...that is if you don't mind additional scratches to your car.

Would not do it if they did have it. Those people don't care about your car. Hand wash it myself, can't stand micro scratches on the paint.

Dealers don't use microfiber towels to dry your car let alone wash it after each use. Most dealers in CA still use the automatic car wash system which put a lot of fine scratches to the paint.
I just hope my MB dealer could read the sign that said "DO NOT WASH".

The guys who hand dry your car at the car washes here, scratch your paint so that the guy who takes your order the next time can "up sell" their buffing service to take out the scratches.

That or they aren't trained properly...I've been sitting at a car wash with my company van and I have seen guys drop their wash cloths and just pick them back up and keep on drying...I cringe every time I see that happen.

I guess you guys really baby your cars. Here in Toronto, my Acura dealer hand washes and does a great job (even puts on tire shine) not sure about the MB. I get enough scratches from the salt and rocks flying around. I don't run my car through the auto car wash though and hand wash it myself in summer but at the end of the day. its just a car...

For basic methods, this is what i do:
1) always wash in a forward and backward direction and not in circle, and use sheepskin wash mitt
2) do not apply any force when washing. Just gently move your mitt
3) start from roof and finish off with hood and trunk, then i would change out the water to finish off the rest of the car
4) dry with only microfiber towels. Don't do cheap on the towels either.
5) never ever wash your car under direct sun light

I buy my auto detail products through:
http://www.detailedimage.com/
Look on the bottom right side and you will see tutorials on detailing a car.
They carry Chemical Guys products and a lot of high end detail supplies.

NuFinish is fine.
It is a polymer not a wax
I happen to use Zaino which is also a polymer.
Polymeres will outlast carnauba waxes. By quite a bit.
Because I garage my cars, I get a year out of the Zaino.
Without a garage most folks get 6-9 months out of Zaino and 2-3 months out of wax.
Because Polymers are pretty close to optically perfect, they will look like a coat of glass.
Wax OTOH is not optically perfect and will impart a "glow" to the finish.
About once a year I put on 3 to 5 coats of Zaino (www.zainobros.com)
and then sometimes put a coat of P-21s Carnauba wax over the Zaino to give the shine a little "warmth".

The Mercedes Dealer washes for free too, I wax my car enough that the scratches don't bother me. I don't show the car, I drive it. After 117K miles in four years swirl marks are the least of my worries.
