Could You Hold to 70mph On This 17 Mile Stretch?

This is not GLK-specific, but I thought you'd enjoy seeing this photo of a VERY long straight on the Extraterrestrial Highway (Rt 375) in near-by Nevada, near Rachel, NV and Area 51. Ah temptation -- I will not admit to have tested the speed limiter on my SLK55 AMG.

You can understand my concern for the GLK's limited-use spare tire out here.

Yes! Neat Picture! We have Alligator alley down here. About 50 or60 miles without a turn or a hill.
It is I-75 from Naples to Miami.

Haven't tested the limiter but would imagine it would be limited to the rating of the OEM tires. Our road tho has too much traffic and too many cops to exceed 100MPH very long.......

what's the fun in going in a straight line? 70 or 170 would seem the same.

Memories.... drove this from SF Ca. to Vegas with some old friends.... our Chevy Tahoe blew a radiator just outside of Alamo on Rt93..... it was a no brainer what we all decided and needed to do with our beer and other body fluids to make it back there for repairs....

This is where we broke down: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&sour...43645&t=h&z=15

I wouldn't say it is "fun", but anything over 150 is definitely not "the same." It's scary when one thinks of the consequences of anything going wrong -- even a surprise from a rabbit suddenly appearing, let alone a tire failure.

I understand that going 70 is not the same going 170, that wasn't my point.

But the rabbit would be in similar position as this fox (I know this is old)

isn't that... easy?

probably not... i would probably take it all the way to 120mph. i mean, you've got to do it at least once in your life....

of course i'd only run that speed for like a minute at most... then cruise back down to around 90....
