Final Coat Advanced Vehicle Protection
My Dealer has offered me this "Final Coat" Protection plan for $1,495 (Im in Toronto,Canada) For 5years protection.
This includes Exterior(they protect your pain with something called "xzilon" they say its the same product approved for all Boeing and Gulfstream aircraft exterior protection) Interior Protection..(If a seat is ripped or stained, they fix or replace)
Electronic rust protection module
wheel/tire protection which would replace the 20" Tire instead of using plugs/patch. will replace rim if cracked or damaged.
Has anyone been offered this? Or purchased this? If so was it the same price? Is this just another dealer hoax? I do plan on keeping my glk for over 5 years. But I also take very good care of my vehicles so not sure if this is worth the $$

This sounds similar to the plan which we went for when buying our GLK 350 last November. The feature that we were most interested in was the
road wheel/tire damage replacement. This, plus the door dents from parking lot damage seemed to make it worth while. It's a five year "plan" and we paid $895.

I wonder how many 'protection plans' there are. I picked my GLK up in Waterloo and paid $700 for 5 years of tire/rim protection and $500 for the xzilon protection (external only).
Sounds like for $300 more I could have got everything. Except the quote from my dealer was $1500 for the xzilon (inside/out), 3M, and Electronic.
Does each dealership have their own options?

I have no idea how they came up with the price...because at first it was $1495 without the wheel/tire protection. When he felt that we were not interested he decided to "throw in" the tire protection. I pick my GLK up on Friday and still have not decided to get it or not. We will see.

GLK 350
Hello
I have been offered the same paint protection/sealant package for $795, but am not sure if I needed since I intend to garage my GLK. Can anyone provide any advice? What is the overall purpose or need of such a sealant?
Thank you

350 GLK - 4 Matic
I was offered a similar thing for 500 canadian - the protector, or permamnant wax or some other such thing. Seems it goes by various names, but if you look after your car, i dont think its worth it.

I would PASS on it in a heart beat.
In terms of the paint protection aspect of it, it's silliness. Connections I have in the surface care industry really don't understand how they get away with it, well, actually they do, it's essentially a warranty you are buying, any wax stuff they put on the paint lasts no longer than any other wax. It really is smoke and mirrors.
Just clay and wax your car every so often yourself, hey, do it once and you'll match what the dealer is going to do for tons of money.
I have to hold back from getting in a big fight when they offer me this, I just have to bite my tongue and say no thank you.
Now, what actually *does* help the front of your car is one of the 3M film protectors / clear bras. These can be a good investment, actual plastic film prevent chips and whatnot. However, since this actually involves work by a skilled guy, I find fewer dealers offer this than the smoke and mirror options.

All these and that packages are all part to the sales. Meaning they get commisimore evry packages they sale. By the time you know it, you end up paying that you dont need or may be cheaper doing your own.
