Is the GLK Front Grill the same SIZE as the C Grills?

I know they are 2 versus three rails, but are the dimensions the same?

There are few to no after market GLK grills available but many for the C. Looks to me like they are exactly the same dimensions but I couldn't find a spec sheet anywhere.

I'd like to swap mine out (Bye Bye huge Mercedes star).

Thanks All!

well first off, that pic is of an S Class, not a C.

I agree the exterior corners are slightly more rounded.

But that could be cosmetic. Would shock me that MB used the same stamps and dimensions. But I could be wrong. My quick measuring of the two one the street said they were extremely close. I am sure the GLK and C share more than the basic chassis.

The only difference looks to me to be on the hood lines which are not attached to the grill.
Only way to know for sure is either an MB parts or body repair guy.
Or if I could open a C's hood and look at mine and his side by side with them exposed.

pretty sure S class does not have the eye brows like C in the pic.

I compared the 2 awhile back and they are not the same, the C is smaller from top to bottom; but if I remember correctly the side to side is almost identical (don't quote me on that it's been awhile)

It's not an S Class...it's the C Class with the "alternative grill".

As for the OP's question, I'm almost positive they're not the same size as others have already mentioned.

Diesel GLK in 20??
paint it black

Hey chickenhole,

I also feel the big tristar emblem on the grill is a bit ostentatious. My idea would be to paint the tristar satin black or paint the entire grill black but that would involve removing the grill to do it right. I read somewhere that removing the grill is not a trivial job because a few past MB owners have had their grills stolen.

The only example of a painted grill someone here directed me to was one of the 2008 SEMA customized GLKs that has the entire grill painted flat black.

Blacked out chrome trim is trendy option for Audi and BMW so one eventually expect MB to offer it as a "sport" look option on the GLK. They think Americans want more chrome so that is all they offer at present.

The grill itself can't be stolen, its bolted to the front with two bolts on top and snaps into the bumper. The actual chrome star on the front however can be popped out quite easily though.

I've been thinking about how the GLK would look with a "luxury" grill, it seems MB is moving into a more futuristic style, kind of shark like imo. I'd like to play up the straight lines and classic look of my 2011.
