OEM Sunshade
I sold my GLK and am selling off some of the accessories I bought for it. I have the OEM front Windshield shade. Looking to get $30 shipped.
I know its just a sunshade. How can it be worth $30? Well it fits PERFECTLY in the GLK windshield and its different than the foil looking shades. The retain price was $58 plust $10 shipped. So I think its a good deal.
Its accordian style and folds very easily then it slides into its included fabric cover.
I attached a picture of it. Its a nice shade!
PM if you want it.

IMO...
The GLK ride quality leaves alot to be desired. Way too stiff for me on Colorado Roads.
The interior plastics are way to cheap and scratch way too easily.
The MBTEX smelled BAD. As well as the AC.
The supposed Ceramic Scratch resistant paint is not what they claim. Scratches just looking at it.
The biggest reason. THE RATTLES WERE STARTING ALL OVER THE CAR!
I decided to dump it and cut my losses now. Instead of later and lose ALOT more.

Less than a year. Bought it 12-31-2009
Traded at 7500 miles. Maybe I had a lemon. I don't know. Not trying to freak anybody out.
I guess my expectations were much higher. It does have a Mercedes Benz emblem on it after all.
I think it is just cheap. BUT THIS IS MY OPINION.

Not freaked out. Just curious. I don't have that many miles on mine but the roads around here are less than perfect. I did test drive a service loaner that had ~40k on it just to see how they held up with age. It seemed to be pretty solid still. So I'm hoping mine will be hold up as well.
Sorry to hear yours was a rattle box. Hope you have better luck with your next car.

I'm sad to say it, but I see many of your points! Our Audi still thrills though!

We're very happy with our 13 months old GLK with 20 inch tires. Excellent ride quality, no rattles. We went for the light grey leather interior with aluminum trim, dark grey outside.
A much better interior than the 3 Audis we had from 2001, 2002 and 2004.

I d be interested in that also because the OP's main argument is not a solid one IMO. Trading a car less than a year old means you ate all the depreciation in the world anyway so keeping it another year you would get about the same $ for it. Unless it is part of a change in one's financial situation it simply makes no sense. Sounds like buyers remorse to me.
Sorry that's my two cents.

I actually traded down to an older model MB. A bought a 2002 S500 AMG Sport Package. I'm hoping age for a Benz isn't quite the same thing as age for a Toyota or Ford. This S500 was rarely driven and seemingly never driven hard (it was previously owned by an older gentelman and was in Texas most of its life). Its really exceptional and as close to a new cone will find.
For the curious minds...
Last December I was new to MB. The GLK was the first MB I ever drove. So I was all over it at first because I had not experienced other MB's and it was so different from what I was used to. So I went for it. My GLK sticker price was $45. I paid $39K for the GLK on December 31st 2009. I got a great deal on the GLK. I think because it was the last day of the year at 7:00PM and they really wanted to sell a car that night. Colorado doesn't seem like a real hot GLK place if you know what I mean. I very rarely see GLK's on the roads here. I don't think they were selling well last December. So they were willing to make a deal and get some on the road. I planned that date on purpose. MB Financial also paid my first THREE payments because of the promotion they were having at the time last December.
The other night they gave me $34K for the GLK. Which is not too terrible really. It was a pretty loaded GLK and was in MINT condition.
I paid $19K for the S500. Some would say that was a little high. But the S500 has only 30K miles on it. Has had all it's services maintenance done and is simply BEAUTIFUL inside and out and the ride is like flying in an airplane. It also hauls ***. Looks aggressive and is pretty much equipped the same in some respects like the GLK with the exception of the fancy screen Nav in the GLK and no bluetooth thing. But the S does have a decent enough Nav as far as I am concered. Far more luxury as well. It suits me well.
I feel good about the deal I made. Sure i took it in the shorts for about $3K. But I didn't take as big a depreciation hit since i only paid $39K then take off another $1500 for MB's payments. Also, my license plates tags were coming Due in Februray 11. They were going to cost $1100.00. Thats right $1100.00. In fact if I would have kept the GLK say 5 years it would have cost probably around $4000 in tags fees over that period of time. $1200 the first year, $1100. the second year, 8 or 900 the third year. You see where I'm going with this. The plates for the S500 will cost $120 per year since its an 02. This saves some money in the long run.
When all is said and done, in the long run I believe I got MUCH more car for LESS money. I have the ride quality I LOVE and I am not annoyed with the rattlebox GLK every morning. I feel like a million bucks driving this thing around. Its just such a sweet ride. I've never driven in anything as nice.
I am glad everyone here likes thier GLK's. That is great! But what works for some people might not work for others and that is where i am at with the GLK. It was a mistake for me and I have moved on![drive](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/driving.gif)

I would've gone for 07 S550. It new model, with 4matic and is selling for under 50k with warranty. 19k is still quite a bit of money for 9 year old car. I hope you don't have to foot 5k bill for a simple repair in a few months. While those cars are built like tanks, the electronics is what sux big time.
That's really good trade-in price for GLK tho.

If I may ask, where are you located? Plate tags in PA are $36 for all passenger vehicles per year no matter how new, old or exotic a car is. I understand your move given this outrageous expense.
