Placed order for GLK350 more than three months ago.
4matic, "Appearance package", "Full leather seating package", "Lighting package", "Premium 1 package".
Still waiting for the car, dealer says there was a back order for panorama roof for this model - demand is too high.
Dealer called today at said he has very same car, but without "premium package". I have rejected the offer and said we will be waiting for our car. Weeks or month - dealer does not know. My opinion - these small features make luxury car luxury and make future sale easier.
Did I make mistake and this package not too important?

a glk without a pano roof is like not merc at all imo

 

The Pano and Sirius make the ride much more enjoyable. You made the right decision.

 

My wife and I swap cars alot so I wouldn't have a car w/o memory seats.

BTW, the side mirrors are also linked to this feature so for me it is a must-have.

find it hard to believe that dealer has GLK with all those options and no Premium package. Usually P1 is the first option you see before anything else.

Pano is nice, and memory is a must if you have more than one driver. Power tailgate is nice but I could live w/o it.

 

That what he has said. We did not go to the dealership to look at the offered car. Otherwise, my wife would be tempted to buy it - GLK is for her.

 

Personal preference of course, but I believe the Premium 1, Appearance and Lighting Packages should be the standard equipment most GLK350s are equipped with!

BTW, we waited almost 5 months for our special-ordered GLK350 due to a shortage of AMG wheels for about a month or so. We still feel it was worth the wait to get it exactly as we wanted, factory-fresh, not test driven and without swirl marks from 'on-the-lot' washings!

BTW, is it possible to verify dealer' info about backorder? Some kind of "Mercedes' information portal"?*

 

The dealer told us to expect 45-90 days for the car to be built (less time if it was built in place of one they already ordered but changed to your specs or if it was a new order) then approximately 30-45 days to get from Germany to the dealership if all went well. Of course part supply issues will slow things down a bit, and although we were not aware of a way to confirm the info beyond what our dealership told us, the timing seemed to make sense.

 

There is, but not available to the general public. The next three weeks of production are not capped for either apperance or AMG pkg.
2/3rds of May has the apperance pkg unavailable, and there are no more slots for AMG pkg cars available for the month of May. While the parts may be available the backlog of cars will have to work its way through Germany...I would assume your car should be produced very soon.

 

Thanks,DCubed. Dealer says car is marked as "Produced" in their system and he has invoice (but no VIN ). Only sunroof needs to be installed.

you need P1 with pano!!!!!

 

The car is empty without the P1. Worth the wait....

 

I will pickup the GLK tomorrow...got P1, pano, 20" AMG wheels, etc...

 

The best option i enjoy in my GLK is the pano roof so my opinion is to wait and get what you really want , its worth it!
