Try this a lot of people swear by their product. Just depends on the size of the chips.

The only white color available at drcolorchip for the GLK is Calcite white.

Is this the same color as Arctic white?

White paint color in the MBUSA brochure: Arctic White.
White paint colour in the Canadian brochure: Calcite White.

Mercedes-Benz colour code of the Calcite White is 650, Arctic White is as well 650 (Artik White DB147 from 1992 and Arktikweiss DB9147 from 1989).

Mercedes-Benz is certainly selling (small) bottles of touch-up paint. We do have one in our (black) GLK, and may be able to provide you with a P/N, if so wished.

Eventual GLK?
Somehow (probably from a valet or a-hole in a parking garage) the left front bumper/wheel well got scraped a bit. No damage to the rims. My paint is metallic black and the scraped areas are white. I bought the touch up paint from MB and thought I'd try to fix it first before taking it anywhere.

The surface isn't smooth in all spots so I think I need to send the area before the two-step paint/marker process. I would carefully sand down the areas where any plasticky bits are sticking up.

What should I use to smooth out the surface?

Any pointers for painting/touching up?

Yup... most of what you see there is the other cars paint. Simply use a good scratch remover polish to remove all the other guys paint. Then, if your paint is gouged, the only way to fix it properly would be to have it painted professionally and blended. If you wish to try it yourself, I wouldn't use Dr Colorchip or a paint pen. Instead do it the old fashioned way either using the two part touch-up with a small brush then top coating with clear or with a small air brush applicator. After a few weeks, buff it out with a good quality polish.

Good luck!

I have a similar minor scratch on the rear fender. What is wrong with the Dr colorchip? Their web ad looks impressive in low-def video. what 'two part touch-up' you recommend?

Dr. ColorChip doesn't work very good, unless you squint at the repair. I prefer the real way... http://www.automotivetouchup.com/

anything for black 2004 CL55? I have a bunch of rock chips on my hood/grill area. I'm also curious about how the Dr. Chips thing works.

Dr.colorchip is one of the easiest products I have used and had success with multiple cars and types of paint. To each their own i guess

Paint Scratch team! How can you explain how my new OEM 199 Glasurit dealer touch up paint matches perfectly on the hood and trunk and wheel
areas? and yours too dark everywhere? The Dealer paint is a perfect match? Again! Please refund my money as stated in your return policy........THE CAR IS NOT FADED! and never been repainted! PLEASE REFUND MY MONEY!

Invoice: 371939
I am tired of your poor customer support!
You confidence is overwhelming!
I sent you an example of the paint sample from the same bottle you sent me.
Now you want me to send the bottle back at my expense too.
You have delayed this over a month and not resolved anything!

I am done talking with you. my words fall on deaf ears

I don't understand why you feel you are obligated to make this my problem?
You have all but called me a liar.
You screwed me out of a small amount of money and wasted my time.
I am done talking with you

Paint scratch response:
Your sample was an exact match to our factory color chip. Your paint may not match due to paint fading
(including interior painted parts), repainting or an incorrect color code. At this point, we recommend custom matching as an alternative. Please visit http s://www.PaintScratch.com/custom.html for
more information.

>Sincerely,
The Team at PaintScratch.com";

I think they use a automated response to blow off customers.
Worked on me! I won't waste anymore of their time ever again.

Listen to this!

Everytime I have had a nasty scratch some simple rubbing has made an amazing difference, often enough that painting is not needed.

In all repairs, always start with the simple stuff!

GLK350
My experience with paintscratch.com - I ordered their arctic white a few years ago to touch up the road rash chips on the front of my 2004 c230. It matched well, but shades of white are probably not that hard to get close too. Also ordered for my wife's cream colored Ford Edge and it was a good match.

I recently ordered their version of mars red to match my 2010 GLK and it wasn't even close. It's very noticeably darker, like a wine red. It was so far off I haven't bothered to try and return it yet - I don't want their second attempt at it.

So in my experience if your car is a shade of white they're worth a try; some other color....not so much.
