GLK as loaner..wind noise?
the car feels nice, but I have noticed a slight issue with the 2010 GLK350.
when I lower the ONLY the driver side window, there is a repeated and fast "whoosh whoosh whoosh" sound that bugs the living crap out of me!! Does anybody else with the GLK experience this as well?
VERY annoying. Just an observation...I'm glad I only have this car for a week.

If you are travelling on a highway I suggest closing the windows and turning on your AC. You will save more fuel in doing that than having your windows down even a bit because of drag.

I'm one of those people that has to have my window open at all times...I tend to get a little claustrophobic if I don't...

I would if it was my car it's my loaner for the week while my CL55 gets serviced.
I wasn't even the one who noticed the noise either. It was my friend who was sitting on passenger side. He pointed it out and now I can't "stop" listening to it.
I should've just picked the 2012 C300...

LOL! put ear plugs or crank the stereo for a week and don't mind it. If it is a loaner car I won't really bother at it at all.

one more thing....what kind of a person will have a car that is small and be a claustrophobic? I think a jeep wrangler will do you well...wide open baby!

hahah yeaaa I can live with it for a week but I was just wondering if other GLK owners were experiencing the same issue. I thought it was a designing flaw, but it could just be the car they loaned me was crap

My brand new one does the same annoying thing. A friend has a new Ford little s**t box something that does it also. Something to do with modern aerodynamic design for less drag, better mileage.

When you open the front drivers window you will always get that annoying sound. Easy solution is open the rear window behind you and that will get rid if the noise. It gives the air coming in the front window somewhere to go.

i have heard the noise, i have also heard it called air hammer, the only way to stop the sound is to have the window open almost half way, or crack open another window a little. that's why cars also have that pop up deflector on sunroofs. to stop the thump, thump, thunp sound
