GLK350 odd wear and tear at door trim at Drivers side.
I assume it happened due to my clothes scraping over as I moved in and out of the vehicle against that steep angled door-frame over the last two years. It does not seem typical for a car with only 10k.
Has anyone else experienced the same or similar?
If so, how did you manage it to resolution with the dealer?
I'll gladly read any suggestions to help me fix it.
Ideally, I will ask MB on my next visit to replace the trim, then add some protective film (like booktape) over the new surface to prevent a re-occurrence. But first wanted to arm myself with any wisdom from y'all in-case they argue that it is simply "Wear and Tear" and then offer to correct it for about $400.

I think you are at the mercy of the "Goodwill" of the dealer and MBCAN because the "Adjustment Period" is the first 12 months or 20,000 km, which ever comes first and you said you had your GLK for 2 years.
It does look like it might be hard to avoid rubbing on the B pillar when entering or exiting the car so maybe they already have set a policy to cover this. Sorry no personal experience to add to the pot. I am going to mention it to my wife as we just picked up a new 2011 GLK350 and maybe we can lessen the wear with careful attention to exiting and entering the vehicle. Maybe MB will come up with a clear covering like a clear bra material to lessen the wear if enough people come forward with this issue.
GL getting it sorted out.
Maybe I got lucky with a good service rep, but he looked at the damage and totally agreed that it wasn't up to MB quality and said he'd never see that happen before.
As a result, they ordered the parts last week and booked me in today. I just got my GLK350 back from the dealer and they replaced the seal and trim under warranty.
My suggestion to others is, if you can, fight for it under warranty. If you already paid for it, throw them a curveball. Demand that other owners throughout North America covered it through warrany and ask them to offset the cost from your next service. You have nothing to lose by trying.
Now I am thinking of adding a length of something like "Book Spine tape" to the vulnerable area to prevent future wear and tear. Anyone have any suggestions as to best material to use?

When I bought it in last weekend to replace the eroding lug nuts (replaced under warranty), the guy said he's never seen that happen before. I should have asked him if this was his first week at the job.
